Shame really, and back 2 of Silva and Fofana would be good battle for Benzema. Maybe for the second leg. Mendy James Fofana Silva Chilwell Enzo Kante Mount Sterling Havertz Felix Maybe Trev covers for Silva in game 1? Barring a miracle I think the game will be over after the first leg. I would love to be proven wrong but a carlo coached real team against us on current form...I'm not looking forward to it Edited April 6, 20233 yr by ssur

Barring no drastic tactical changes from Frank, I think we can hold our own should the players be up for it.
April 6, 20233 yr Author We’ve never had much of a chance vs Real but I know we have a much better chance under Frank now instead of Potter or Potter Lite.
April 6, 20233 yr at least the players have some respect for Lampard (as a player, maybe not so much as a manager) with Thiago Silva and Kante being fit miracles can happen

I remember that defensive was the issue, can't be bothered to check back and apologies if I am wrong. JT has said the only this week it is the only managerial role he would take is Chelsea. Never has a player bled blue more than him, so I don't really care what he has done elsewhere. we need passion for the club at the moment Defense was a very big issue under lamp. You don't have to be a pro manager to see the reason. Liverpool is showing the same problem. Lamp wanted to play high energy, fast pace football and you need your midfield to be able to run. The moment Kante went down everything went south. Offense was a problem because lamp tried to find a way to play puli, Ziyech, timo, kai at the same time.
April 6, 20233 yr All the best Frank. You have my respect for jumping into the frying pan. Hope it works out well for all concerned, good luck.

April 6, 20233 yr I just remember us leaking goals first time around I truly hope he knows he can’t play like that again. Love him as player average as a manager and I don’t see how this will be different but I hope he proves me wrong.
April 6, 20233 yr It may not work but: 1. Always a feel good factor to see Frank at the Bridge for players and fans 2. Will bring goals and has a far better team to work with 3. Just relieved to have potter and anything connected to him gone 4. Might give the board the time they need to get the right man for the project
April 6, 20233 yr Allow me to be the 2498th person to say We probably still paying him from last time, so no effect on staff expenses...
April 6, 20233 yr Great call to make Frank an interim. Loves the club and the fans love him. Bruno was never going to do a job and would never have got the fans on side especially after the pool match. Haven’t a clue how it will go but definitely will improve the atmosphere. Maybe a chance of exciting football at the bridge again.
April 6, 20233 yr I'm going forward more in hope than expectation, which is probably the right way of looking at it. The season is almost over... Ahhh The champions league, i suppose you just never know however unlikely with our draw, but it does make the CL games ahead very, very exiting .... Personally i'm hoping for Frank to recover some of his managerial kudos and leave the club at the end of the season for the new manager in a positive way. That would make me a very happy Chels and give Frank the Chelsea legacy he deserves.
April 6, 20233 yr It's a risky appointment, but at least demonstrates that the owners are not fearful of making controversial decisions .... fortune favours the brave. Now looking forward to attending the game against Brighton on the 15th, was dreading it under Potter and co, they'll all get paid off and find new positions but time for that mournful entourage to be swept out.
April 6, 20233 yr Wow. One of the more unexpected appointments in recent times. Hard to see how you go from being sacked by Everton to appointed by Chelsea. That said he'll set Mason, Reece and Chilwell flying again and there is no Rudiger to undermine him. Kepa must be shaking in his boots though 😄
April 6, 20233 yr Just to add to this. I'm pretty sure that we will see Aubameyang return to the team under Frank. It's a second chance for him, for Pulisic and for Mount. If Frank can sort out the leaky defence that we had under him last time we might well go okay.
