Conte will definitely improve the team and will probably send us back to Champions League but it will only be a short term fix until he has a fight with the ownership.

By simply inverting Cucurella, we have more presence in midfield in the transition vs Caicedo completely isolated and Chalobah and Badiashile only having one passing lane. The CBs have enough protection as well to correct errors they make, which we saw both Chalobah and Badiashile do. This also allows Gallagher to free roam in midfield. 

Again, why has it taken 33 games for Poch to finally address this?

The bench is looking good at present. Out of the debacle at the hands of the Gooners, just maybe, some good has occurred? Small sample admittedly but we at last look to have a bit more structure.

I don't think it is good for everyone if you have 120m on the bench. Poch tried to play him higher and everyone said that Poch misprofile enzo.

I was at the game last night and the way we swarmed all over spurs was like the days of old 

there has definitely been an improvement in the team and results of late 

I was on the fence re poch in or out changing my mind weekly but was I saw last night was a team fighting and trying which is what we wanted all season 

he has been so so unlucky with injuries I’m sure no coach would have done much better because he just hasn’t had a settled side all season BUT the young lads are starting to understand and learn what you have to do to compete at this level 

I would give him another season

Give him another season Bohley. The team is progressing.

In the post match interview he was asked about "building a relationship with the fans" and he said "I don't know about the fans". Was he sticking 2 fingers up?

It's odd because results have taken a turn for the better but the manager strikes an increasingly frustrated figure in the post-match interviews.

Last week he admitted there's been no contact with the owners for two months, yesterday he seemed really frustrated despite the great performance. You almost wonder if he's taken a stand and put forward his demands to the ownership/directors (keep Gallagher, don't bring in "specialists" I don't want, bring in some experience etc) only to realize he's about to lose that battle and be gone in the summer anyways.

I would imagine he is speaking with an intermediary which is normal enough.

Exactly. It's almost as though they love sabotaging themselves.

With all the injuries perhaps I’ve been a little harsh on him but my god we’ve been dreadful this season but if we finish 6th, with all the injuries, it’s a decent achievement.

I think his biggest issue is the utilising of Gallagher, he keeps playing Gallagher in pivotal positions where we need that creativity and dangerous threat that Gallagher does not provide. He values his workrate more than someone who can actually make use of that position properly. 

It's a good reason why we haven't beat a lot of the lowblock sides. I thought Gallagher was just playing there because Chukwuemeka and Nknunku couldn't stay fit. No unfortunately, Pochettino values running more than being a good footballer.

But no, let's not get ahead of ourselves. We've had plenty of good performances this season, Villa game, City games, Everton, and we went straight back to square one. It's been a very frustrating season.

I fully agree regarding Sheffield United but Burnley was down to the players (GK not saving the first goal, Sterling missing multiple chances, etc) even if you disagreed with his somewhat passive approach to that game.

Why not? We have the easiest run of fixtures out of 3 fighting for 6th place.

Newcastle and United got to play each other. United have Arsenal too.

As much as it has been very up & down, I honestly think Pochettino has earned another season wherever we finish.

I have been as frustrated as anyone with some of the results & performances, but in certain games, there have been some good signs. Last night was another of those which should be applauded considering we were literally down to the bare bones with a very young & inexperienced bench. I don't see anyone else out there who would be guaranteed to come in and do massively better AND stay for longer than a season. 

We HAVE to do something about the injuries and the medical team though. We simply cannot have another season of injuries like this one - utterly ridiculous.

Quite a decent chance I would say with Newcastle and man United playing each other  and united also playing Arsenal .

On paper Chelsea have the easiest run in for whatever that is worth. 3 wins out of 4 would probably see us into 6th
