So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!

Ignore all the fine details, just looking at the final outcome of the season, have to say he reached the target ( the top 4 was way too far).  After showing signs of good things to come, the owners thought they be better of taking another route of unknown with younger managers. I don't see Poch being happy here, despite turning things around he's not showing much enjoyment ( particularly on the last day). Having worked under Levy, he knows how to set his expectations,  but even he expects a bit more support from the bosses, which he didn't get much. At the end of the day, it's the club's loses, now we do another reboot and the usual process of players getting used to the manager, and vice versa. It's been said before, maybe these bunch of owners don't believe managers, one day either Boehly or his pet dog will take charge of the team on the sideline.

95%?? What are your expectations? For the last 21 of the 38 games we were the 4th best and only one point behind Pool. If we were dreadful for a lot of that time what were Villa, Spurs and Newcastle?

The teams around us were also dreadful. Us being the 4th best team after the turn of the year doesn’t mean that were setting the world on fire. We were struggling a lot in most games and weren’t looking like a coached team.

I acknowledge that injuries played a huge part in our downfall, but I still would’ve liked to see some structure and an actual, defined, and visible style of play.

The last 5 wins were great though. Also can’t forget the win against the Utd scum, probably my favourite day of the season.

Pochettino leaving by mutual consent is the best possible outcome. I do not believe that he could improve this team any further. Despite some decent results in the second half of the season were very lucky to win some of the games such as United, Bournemouth, Brighton and even Forest. Under his guidance we had the worst defence in the last 30 years.

One decision that will forever baffle me  is why was he so reluctant to try Ian Maatsen as a left back, where he was was amazing at Burnley and now at Dortmund. Instead the Moron tried him a few times as a left winger.  just for that reason alone he had to go.

I hope we get a new manager who can improve our defence as I honestly believe we can match any team in Midfield and attack.

Please...........................no one from Brighton . I think Amorin would be my choice.

But looking at Amorim's preferred formation it would surely mess up our midfield and attack due to the distribution of players and in fact I am not sure we have the depth to cover the positions in his formation.

And to think the owners were “doing their due diligence” for months  before they hired him in order to find the perfect man… now they give him the boot. Ridiculous and unserious people.

We’re in for a long summer with this kind of due diligence, better strap in.

Just think what it says about their focused, data driven, decision making process if they do go back in for TT. This is why I don't think this will ever happen.

Shows they don’t have a clue what they are doing and making it up as they go along.
We say this a lot” making it up as they go along” but this is truly what it appears to be happening.

I agree. If they hire him back, it would mean they can be adults and admit mistakes, which is a huge plus in my book. But it would also mean they would be throwing everything they’ve been so vocal about in the water. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t type of situation.

As much as I would love to see TT back, it’s very unrealistic to hope for it to happen.

TT is the worse manager for this job.

Boehly and his cohorts are doing a job on Chelsea that Anthony Taylor can only dream of. Winstanley and Stewart are distinctly to blame but shame on those supposed Chelsea fans Charone and Finkelstein for having no influence. Clearly only in it for other reasons...

I said all I have to say earlier in the thread.

Poch should be judged on progress, and in a number of areas he did not show enough progress, even when adjusted to take into account the injuries.

A run of results towards the end of the season do not change that. Even in the final game, we had zero control, and if big dom hadn't have shanked it into row z, we would not have won.

Personally, I would have kept him - but i also called it weeks ago with a post where i said it didn't look like he wanted to be here.

He was a lesser version for Benitez - hard to love.

Rumour has it we're going to get an AI chat bot as our next manager. Lawrence and Winstanley will type in a load of data and then staple to the dressing room door whatever it spits out.

Young manager they said. What is younger than AI?

Poch was always a little Spursy, so I am certainly not heartbroken that he is gone. That said, sure get a new manager, but only IF it is going to be a wild improvement.  So, who is this next manager going to be?  Young?  A young manager. . .

So not Jose or Max Allegri? Thankfully.

De Zerbi? I say Nope. Not a good manager. Imho.

Ruben Amorin? Seems okay, but . . . counter attacking football is not really us.

Kieran McKenna – love this guy – but feel he should stay with the Tractor Boys for another couple of seasons at least – what is the rush for him?

Tomas Tuchel? The return. Better than Poch imho. Cannot really see him coming back. Why would he do that to himself?

No chance for an experienced manager, especially return of Tuchel, would be an admission of guilt and these owners won't have any of that. They just want someone coaches the team and leave all the decision makings to them, a head coach not a manager. I'm sure there are takers out there, would someone like Mckenna risk it before he gets a real feel of the PL? I doubt it, although in football anything could happen. Poch is probably the favorite to get the Bayen job, at least he never got relegated like the Burnley manager.

I think Pooch told the SD to foff... and that's why he's out... they're looking for a younger guy who they can boss about and will follow the board...

Personally I think they're a bunch of w**kers but next season will tell...

Think they've also made it very difficult for the next manager.

The owners have officially lost me. What a bunch of clowns.

Back to square one and the circus continues. I’m over it to be honest.
