So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!

I absolutely do think we should be challenging top 4 if we keep our (rumoured) best Xl fit (big if I know), infact Kepa likely still being #1 and a lot of new faces to gel are the only reason I'm not aiming higher.

That being said I do think Pochettino should be left alone in terms of fan pressure if the advanced metrics are pointing to sustainable progression, but sadly I don't think he will.

I do think we have a good bunch of talented players here, but many are still raw and inexperienced. A good partner for Fernandez is the big task right now. But even with that we still have plenty to go, especially when you look at our competition next season.

The big thing right now is seeing the progress on the pitch, and I'm very sure the results will come in time once the new players gel and we strengthen positions that need strengthening.

Hmmm... there does seem to be a problem with the durability of some of the players...

I think 2 seasons in a row with the highest injury count in Europe's top leagues says there may be some issue...

Although part of that is addressed just be getting rid of Kante, Kova, and Pulisic.

Tbf we did play the most matches in Europe within those 2 seasons

I do think many people need to wind back their expectations. There's no excuse to be having a season like we just had, we need to see improvements on the pitch, visible improvements even if the results aren't perfect.

I'm definitely not expecting a top 4 finish this season.

Agreed, somewhere between 6-8 I think is a realistic expectation.  A lot depends on Chilwell and James staying out of the treawnt room and being actually on the pitch.

The dressed in all black is appropriate. Going to be some players funerals.

Wonder how Ziyechs knee and hip will hold up to this 2 week rigorous fitness camp.

As long as we don't play back 5, we won't be as dependant on them as we were under TT

Love this.

Absolutely true.

How many leaders have we given him to work with though?

If I am being generous:

Kepa

Silva

James

Enzo

Gallagher

Chilwell

In truth though it is just Silva and James.

Always felt there were 2 forms of leadership. Those that lead by example and those who's presence liberate fear in others. The latter is surely those that are defined as "leader of men" ala Terry where their presence and vocal nature inspires others around them.

There are then leading by example, which I feel at least 80% of our squad have the potential to do so.
