While pre season has sadly shown challenging for the title again is a long way off its also it's also clearly shown anyone claiming we're having a sequel of last season are being negative for the sake of it at this point.

The doom and gloom is insane. Even if the season starts now we have a quality team.

James, Chilwell, Silva, Colwill, Badiashile, Enzo, Santos, Nkunku, Jackson, Mudryk and Madueke - Coached by an elite coach in Pochettino, 4th is firmly in sight.

You're telling me there's 10 teams in the league that are better than that? Crazy.

6th or 7th would be my guess.

City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Utd are all above us. That leaves us battling out with Spurs, Newcastle, Brighton and Villa to be the best of the rest. I think we will pip some of those - but not convinced all.

A lot can change in between season's.

Only City out of last season's sides were superior to 21/22 Chelsea. And it's worth remembering Liverpool were doing just as badly as us until we effectively chucked the season by reappointing Lamps.

I think we will improve significantly under Pochettino, and we have already seen some positive signs in pre-season. Hard to predict where we might finish though. There really wasn't a massive gap between 4th and 8th/9th last season so factors like injuries and new players settling in will play a part too. One thing in our favour may be the lack of any European football. The likes of Newcastle, Villa, and Brighton will hopefully be distracted by their European matches. I think anything less than top 8 would be considered disappointing given that we managed 12th even in last season's wretched effort. I will go for 6th aligned with a cup run. Either way the football should be a lot better to watch this season.

We are surprisingly well regarded in the early  betting, marginally better fancied than Newcastle for instance and only a little behind United. To speculate on why we are quite well rated maybe it is some kind of anchoring. Punters are used to seeing us up the top and one bad season hasn't completely destroyed the perception.

I personally think that we outperform these odds but still not going to put a vote in until after the the Liverpool game.

Interesting odds. For me this title is Liverpool's to lose, with City significantly weakened by the loss of Gundogan/Mahrez and being unlikely to have de Bruyne available for a large chunk of the season.

Arsenal will be very fortunate indeed if they have a similar run of injury avoidance and I think they along with Newcastle are going to learn some harsh lessons. Both Man U and ourselves are realistically another 1-2 seasons away from challenging for a title.

I reckon 6th and I'm being optimistic. It will take time for the team and players to build up. Every window since the take over we are getting close to half a dozen players, they all need team, even the guys came in last window.

Top 6, it's a long season and in 38 matches a lot can happen. But if things go our way who knows though I believe we'll try to fight for the 4th spot.

I believe that Liverpool and Man City will be hard to beat and Newcastle as well.

Can we make the vote public @loz?

I think 3rd or fourth. City and Liverpool/Arsenal ahead of us.

Expecting Utd to struggle, Think Onana will cost them a lot of goals with how erratic he is, Mount doesn't really improve them on what they had and Holjund (if he signs) isn't a prolific goal scorer. I give them until November until the Glazer out brigade are out in full force.

Newcastle have had their bounce and Howe is an average manager, another team i think will drop off. Tonali doesn't want to be there. Harvey Barnes is an upgrade on ASM but they have CL football to worry about this year.

Brighton are losing Sanchez, Colwill, Mac Allister, likely Caicedo. Dahoud is a good signing but doesn't offer the energy Caicedo and Mac Allister did. New manager bounce is gone can see them not being as competitive.

Villa could be a dark horse, can see them getting Europa league, so long as the conference league away days don't burn their players out.

Tottenham are Tottenham.

Liverpool have lost 3 integral players and have a completely new midfield. (Still no DM)

City have Gundogan/Mahrez gone, with Silva still up in the air. That'll be 3 mainstays gone, with KDB out at the start with a grade 3 hamstring tear.

United look an absolute mess with their purchases.

Newcastle battling Europe and the league will likely prove difficult.

Villa and Brighton the same.

Arsenal still don't have a traditional goal scorer and Arteta's hipster methods looking a bit 'brazy'.

You can't be suggesting that our rebuild is smaller than Liverpool's or Man City's? Liverpool even with a lot of injured players for multiple seasons always manages to come back into the top 4 conversation despite anything and Man City is just Man City.

For the rest, it's safe to hope that we can beat at least once any of those teams but nothing is a given at this point in time, this won't be Conte's first season as our squad will need time in order to become a strong team.

The point I was making was that every club is going through something internally. I think with Caicedo, we finish at least 5th. Having no Europe is absolutely massive.

Call me a mad man, I'm gunning for 1st, 2nd. Does it seem likely? No. But I do genuinely feel excited about the prospect of this new team and I feel we have some really talented players, a very good/likeable coach, and far fewer games that the rest of the big 4/6. There's no reason we can't do something special. At the very least, it's gotta top last season!

3rd/4th... On paper our team looks very decent and can take on anybody + no CL will mean Pochettino has more time with the squad. Then next season upgrade some positions and try push higher

Don't think I can make it public however @coco might be able to as the poll originator.
