Liverpool have signed well and City will win the league again, I don't see Arsenal majorly dropping off and I think they will comfortably finish 3rd.

So it will be a battle for 4th between Newcastle, Utd and us.

Utd could have off the pitch problems with the ownership and Newcastle could struggle to manage the amount of games they have now being in Europe. Our advantage is not having alot of games to play but I don't think we have an experienced bunch so results and confidence will take time.

City, Liverpool, Arse, Utd, Chelsea, Newcastle.

So in short, 5th.

Impossible to predict as most of the team that got us regular top 4 finishes are now gone and the new players are mostly unknown.  We could finish 10th or 2nd.  What I will add is that Man Utd, Newcastle and Arsenal all have CL football this season which will massive effect there top 4 chances.  They now have 2 games a week and not able to put out weakened sides like in the Europa league.  I don't think Utd and Newcastle in particular have any depth currently so this could open up space for us and Liverpool who haven't really got to worry about Europe.

My prediction is Man Utd will lack investment and go back to the same team pre Ten Haag and the end of the Howes honeymoon period plus CL football will halt Newcastle leaving us to nick 4th.

2nd place.

We’ll start the season with a boring 0-0 v the dippers, then win the next 7 on the trot, then beat Arse at the bridge and become serious contenders with no European footy in our way.

I could easily predict another mid table finish and poor season, but depression would set in and darkness would enter the room. Life’s too short.

Come on the Chelsea !!

I wish I had the same confidence as some of you lot. We don't even have a midfield yet.

Enzo, Conor, Tino, Carney, Santos, Casadei

plus whoever else we buy like Caicedo ????

For 3 MF positions at most.

Voted 5th. Part of the problem with every massive rebuild (and what's happening at Chelsea certainly is one) is the fans expectations. I know it's hard for us not to expect a rebound after finishing in bottom half of the table last season. But imo we have to manage expectations which means any European Cups qualification should be counted as a success for a young team in transition. We have a lot of potential and a great coach but I still voted 5th. I think that's the reality - Arsenal's young team is already gelled and experienced and Man Utd are just an old team with amazing veterans and great tactics atm.

But look at Man Utd, look at us in the last decade. Where do Falcao, Cavani, Casemiro, Aubameyang transfers come from? Short termism caused also by fans impatience. That's why we need to give the owners time. The road back to greatness might be much quicker than what Arsenal had to go through, we are much more expansive and bullish in the transfer market. We have, as Pochettino said, a winning culture.  Come on the Chelsea !!

Enzo and Caicedo I rate, we still have to sign Caicedo though. The others aren't at the level we need to finish in the top 4. Casadei I could see growing into a very good footballer, Chukwuemeka could be there in the future, but I don't think Gallagher and Anjorin will ever be good enough, and from what I have seen of Santos, I have doubts about him too.

Realistically, as it stands (noting that we clearly haven't finished our summer transfer activity yet), Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Man Utd and Newcastle are all better than we are, already have a season or more as an established group, and aren't at the beginning of an enormous transition.

A much lighter schedule and a manager with good, relevant experience of it should make periodisation easier. That said, if we continue our behind-the-scenes logistical clusterf**k from last season, then another year in the doldrums surely awaits. If the likes of Mount and Havertz are eagerly jumping ship to our [theoretically] direct rivals, it probably doesn't suggest that the atmosphere at the club is (or has been) especially positive.

We'll see. There are a lot of changes yet to come.

First post here, but I really don’t think we do it this year. Chelsea (assuming Silva isn’t playing) might have the youngest average age team in the PL and I think that most people are overlooking the fact that while young players are exciting and energetic and we probably ah e the right manager to harness those traits, we don’t have players who are experienced going up against the same CBs year after year, knowing the little tricks to get open, etc.

I think it’s going to be a struggle, as Pochettino needs time to install the Chelsea way into these young players, and really there isn’t much time to do that AND improve fitness, AND teach new systems.

I hope I’m wrong but I think we finish outside of Europe spots.

at least we get the club World Cup season after next with auto qualification though!

A lot can change in a new season.

Out of those sides above only City were superior to our 21/22 version.

I think United will have a 2nd season syndrome with Ten Hag, all the noises are United won't be/haven't got the money (how with what they generate?) to adequately improve their squad and there were signs at the end of last season Casemiro was starting to show his age which I can't imagine getting any better playing DM in a "two number 8's" system.

Think a lot depends on other teams. Theres a lot of unknowns such as Newcastle, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs. They could all play their part in competing for top 4.

I expect somewhere between 4-6. I think it will be good season. At Spurs, Pochettino got top 4 in every full season - so good record.
