And Gordon didn't look like such a bad shout if you watch him today

if you put him and Gallagher in the England team then you are playing with 13 they run so much

Gordon has taken a step forward this season. Had the chance to watch him in person this pre-season and his pace is outstanding, and work rate exemplary. He’s adding end product now as well - think he will be a leading player for them in a couple of years.

A few of us were quickly shot down Phil when we voiced the opinion that we felt he would be a good addition for us when we were rumoured to be discussing a deal with Everton last year.

The kid has real talent and leaves everything on the pitch each time I have watched him. I would take Gordon over AC Milan's £80 million Rafael "why should I bother tracking back?" Leao, everyday of the week.

what a great game that was from Newcastle

absolutely brilliant

Yes, terrific performance.

Just watching the dreadful TNT highlights show. They contrasted Newcastle, with their 'two local lads' (Burn and Longstaff) with Chelsea, who by implication have none. Apart from James, Chalobah, Colwill, Gallagher, Broja and Sterling, but they obviously don't count as local lads, because we've signed some South Americans and Africans, unlike Newcastle, who haven't brought in anyone from overseas, other than Almiron, Isak, Guimares, Tonali, Schär, Botman.

They talk such clichéd garbage. Just pathetic

Eddie Howe is class. Things would probably have been looking very different right now if we had hired him last summer when he was available for free.

Perhaps in a couple of years after Pochettino's steadied the ship somewhat...

I don’t rate Howe that highly. I like him but don’t think he’s elite in anyway.

How many times do you need to be told, intent has absolutely nothing to do with the rule. Accidental or not, its a foul. Loads of fouls are accidental, do you think all those shouldnt be given too?

You'll have to hammer home the point mate !

His record before Newcastle wasn't . anything that made him a candidate for us. But what he's done at the team who were relegation bound without ridiculous spending is just remarkable., I think 3 of the scorers last night were already there when he took over..

They're going through an awful spell at the moment, be  interesting to see if all that selling of their best players is about to catch up with them ?

Let's hope so!

Actually love Brighton as a place (especially with the Mod connection) and in the past have always had a soft spot for the team and have liked to see them do well. But since the Potter debacle and since with De Zerbi acting like a cock and their fans getting above their station, it's good to see them get taken down a peg or two. Or three................

Brighton's always been great for pubs and clubs, but a few of us have been going on to Hove lately, loads of pubs and bars  , without the piss head day trippers .

I like Brighton simply because I met Luca Vialli in an ice cream shop there.

Can't stand Brighton since a paragliding weekend course I was taking there got cancelled after 2 hours due to endless rain. Sightseeing didn't improve my mood, the Pavillion is a particular low point., George IV's inner pikey gone mad. And don't get me started on the Batman film I saw. Checked my watch after an hour to see that actually only 10 minutes had passed. And now the football club of that horrid place don't even have the decency to lose. Ugh.

You got to be joking. Who is in this "independent" panel. Jota 2nd yellow was a blatant yellow. This happens all the time, you make a mistake and blood just rush through your head and then you make stupid challenge.

He made 5 fouls in about 7 minutes, this was an accumulation of fouls rather than a specific one. f**king idiots.

Even without foul accumulation, That jota 2nd foul was 100% yellow. Rash, close to your own box.

the panel have now ruled that the second challenge was not worthy of a second booking.

Richarlison got barely touched with an elbow and instantly faked like he’s having a concusion, the ref    gives one of the worst yellow I’ve seen this season
