August 31, 20232 yr You can never tell from highlights but it looked ok. Big teams often struggle on these early round cup ties especially when we were down one in what looked to be an unusual penalty and then they park the bus.

Then we needed the bigger names to come on and get us the win. You would like to think that against a League Two side, a few more players would be able to stand out. The Manager's job is to win games and he has now done that twice in 5 days. For Christ sake people, give Pochettino a chance. I have already seen enough improvement (even at West Ham) to be very happy with our choice of Manager so far.

And more importantly, what's @Scott Harris' view in this? And now I'm going to read everything else in this thread, hopefully I'm not going to regret this

August 31, 20232 yr that was never a penalty from Sanchez but of course we are a victim of all referee ‘mistakes’ manure c**ts benefit from
August 31, 20232 yr Fernandez took his goal well though should have had more. Noted Disasi with a vital block earlier on. Cucurella got forward more than I have seen for some time. Gallagher seemed to be heavily involved in building play and driving us on and also had a couple of shots. Madueke also had a couple of good attacking runs.
August 31, 20232 yr Cucurella I thought did ok, in fact he should have had more assists if we were better in front of goal. Having said that being Wimbledon you would have expected him to do ok I agree with Coombsie, Poch is doing well, one more win before the international break then the only major down was one half away to West Ham, and painful as it is they have started well, a journey man player like Ward-Prowse was a shrewd buy. I always feel that a manager should know his first 11 as soon as possible which to me is a challenge with so many new faces. so far (based on this season alone) I would say only Silva, Fernandez and Sterling pick themselves a few others knocking on the door 👍

He got forward a lot more, linked up well.
August 31, 20232 yr We easily could have won this one 4-1 if we had scored 2 more goals. I'll go rest, now. That analysis took some doing.

August 31, 20232 yr After seeing the highlights we arguably should've won that 4 or 5 nil. f**k audio commentary. Biased audio commentary at that.
August 31, 20232 yr Just watched the highlights. Looks like we would've scored 4 or 5 were it not for bad finishing. Pen was dodgy af too. Take the win and move on!
August 31, 20232 yr I'm actually glad we didn't give them a hiding Their rise from the Southern League to the first division and an FA cup win was remarkable. Then their rise from scratch after the club was stolen, holding trials on the Common, and then the rise through the pyramid , I've always admired them and the fans who eventually raised funds for the new stadium at or near Plough Lane. That's what supporting your club looks like , and I reckon that's what we all would have done in their position too.

But you're watching it in your personal VAR studio, the ref hasn't got the luxury ..😂
August 31, 20232 yr I agree that we weren’t as bad as some in here were commenting yesterday. We weren’t sharp enough and some of the youngsters showed that weren’t ready yet, but there were some good performances. We were controlling the game and if not for a nonexistent penalty (wtf was the referee looking at when he gave Wimbledon that penalty!?), they wouldn’t have had a chance in the first half. During the second half we were all over them creating chance after chance and missing some very good ones. Sanchez is settling and it is good to see a keeper coming out and claiming crosses. Not a penalty but a good clearance in my opinion. Cucurella gets a bashing all the time, but he did not do much wrong and the second goal started with a forward pass from him. He tries to be progressive in many occasions. I though that the defence worked well, Disasi and Humphreys were solid. Ugochukwu was ok, though he gave away the ball a couple of times that could have cost us. Gallagher and Madueke were outstanding for me, it’s a shame that Connor did not score because he put in a tremendous effort and had some good chances. I thought that Maatsen was average the first half, but he was really good in the second half. Burstow and Moreira tried but are not ready, in my opinion. Overall, I thought that we were good against a Wimbledon that were fighting for every ball. We are still not clinical enough and should have beaten them 3 or 4 - 1 had we had a more clinical finishing.
August 31, 20232 yr 98% possession in the 2nd half was nice touch. Performances against these sides early on are always taken with a grain of salt. We had the 2nd and 3rd steing on so chemistry was going to be out of whack and even if we did win, it’s still only Wimbledon. Happy for the win! Upwards and onwards. Only chumps from the PL get eliminated at this stage of the cup

And now I'm going to read everything else in this thread, hopefully I'm not going to regret this It was just the creepy way he said. Even the co commentator felt uncomfortable. As for my view, I don't care if Jackson plays with no shorts as long as he scores goals 😆
September 1, 20232 yr Listened on radio live , just looked at highlight reel. It’s an improvement over last season, that’s progress at least.

I have heard of 50 pence headers from strikers but none that reverse the ball back out of the box. Criminal decision. Thankfully he is senior enough to know that the referee was a complete bell*nd and it didn't affect him as he came and claimed very well later on. Fck the sh*t refs Sanchez, please keep coming and claiming. Its a breath of fresh air.
