My post was in response to 2211 , players staying behind for extra training

from watching the zola / palmer YouTube video (all of it)

I don’t think staying behind after training is encouraged.

my opinion is that the players would need permission from Maresca .

sconnie blue , I come on this forum to post my opinion and not to be

called a lier .

anyway got to sort my tickets for Monday night

come on Chelsea.

Although i agree Bundesliga is sh*te i don't think kane is or was declining, he has his best PL season they year before he left

I look at his England performances too and he looks a bit off the pace to me and has done for most of the time he’s been in Germany. He’s definitely lost a yard of pace imo. He’ll still score goals especially for a team like Bayern but if he ends up back in the PL it will be to Tottenham where he can see out his days being semi decent much the same way as Shearer did at Newcastle.

See 4:10 to 4:26 if anyone else wants to watch it. I'm gobsmacked !

It's not.

Couldn't believe any manager would ever say that so I just watched the video. Zola asked Palmer if he practiced FKs when referencing his FK goal against Brighton, and Palmer says no. He doesn't practice them.

I understand posting stuff when there's context missing, but @Vin1968 just flat out lied.

And he's said it before. Doesn't practice penalties either.

Imagine Maresca not allowing the likes of Sancho and Jackson to stay behind for a little bit and practice their finishing.

We’re doomed! Doomed I tells ya!

Come on for f**ks sake, stop hunting for things to be outraged at. Thats blatantly a fitness thing, they have all these metrics and data now about keeping players in the "green". The desperation from some people on here to hate on every little thing is ridiculous.

What a disaster we’re FORCED to sign Sancho btw, it’s gone under the radar for the relatively low transfer fee, but he’ll want to get close to his current wage at United, a reported 375k pw. Duran (who would have been an instant hit here) is on 300k pw in Saudi ffs.

And we HAVE to sign Sancho, it’s in writing, there is no escape from this. What an absolute sh*tshow, on every possible level.

He isn't a bad player at all, as I said in the main chat, of the attackers tonight:

- Sancho was great at Dortmund

- Neto was great at Wolves

- Nkunku was great at Leipzig

- Palmer was world class last season

Yet under Enzo they all look utterly toothless. Palmer scores in spite of Enzo's tactics, the other two just hugging the byline and limited in what they're allowed to do.

Not buying these two. He was so “great” at Dortmund they passed on signing him even at a discounted price. All the big clubs in Europe even passed on him but our SDs saw the greatness because of his bargain fees.

Neto literally found his level at Wolves and spent 5 seasons there with every team passing on him for a reason. Both players have no business starting for a top 4 team.

Sancho was also completely sh*te at United. He was doing a lot of the things he does for us. Too many touches, not doing things quick enough, no shot, too weak, no pace, positionally easy to defend against. He's got a nice touch and can thread a 5 yard pass, but he's largely ineffective, easy to defend against and easy to take out of the game. When we are going through a rough patch in a game, he turns invisible. He's incapable of helping the team get any momentum.

Btw, how does that work effectively? I mean, we've probably already arranged his contract because it doesn't matter if we have an obligation to buy from United but Sancho himself rejects the contract offer, right? And we just don't hand those 300k contracts anymore apparently.

Anyone has info on that?

I don’t know with this board anymore but with an obligation all the contract stuff should have already been agreed with the player just in case the conditions are met. Sancho can’t reject if conditions are met.

If I was to guess he will probably be on Felix wages with bonuses. We won’t be paying him what United are.

Thought I read he dropped his wages to £150kpw

According to The Athletic, he has agreed to sign an incentivised contract at a lower salary. The transfer fee will be between 20-25 million depending on performance this season.

Neto was great at Wolves? 2 goals in 20 apps last season for them? Season before that, 18 apps and 0 goals. He has zero goal threat, and for the money spent I expect way, way more. His stats were poor at Wolves. You speak about Nkunku, but didn't Werner and Havertz also come to Chelsea off the back of successul and highly impressive seasons in the Bundesliga? They were underwhelming for us. Lets not mention Sterling, too. I think this proves it's not just the coach.

No idea why this thread is so busy and Sancho is being made a scapegoat, he is the least of any of this clubs problems!

Wouldn't go as far as saying least. I still think he lacks genuine output however I do agree we have far bigger problems in the first team than him.  There would be a number I would focus on replacing before I got to Sancho.

He has ability but no drive. He’ll best a player do some nice skill then pass the buck instead of taking the impetus to shout himself.

I do agree Loz but was hinting of the problems being the hierarchy, not so much on individual players!

Totally agree. While the SD's and owners are the biggest issue, I would say that there are many players that are a bigger issue than Sancho. For example the albatross of Raheem Sterling returns at the end of the season, and he is on big wages. I cannot see any way we will shift him on without a big loss. Then we have tough decisions to make over some of our perennial crocks in Fofana and Lavia.
