Bournemouth vs Chelsea (PL) Sat 14th Sep 24 20:00 GMT

Sanchez played well. But Taylor got the SKY Sports Man of The Match.

Deservedly so. Had more affect on the game than anyone else by far.

In the years to come, when people talk about the bloodbath of Bournemouth v Chelsea, and the record 14 Yellow cards, we can say we saw it.

Disasi can not step a foot on the pitch for us again.

Fofana’s brain was not with him tonight.

Sancho was a breath of fresh air, took responsibility immediately and it paid off.

Nkunku needs to start at #9 instead of Jackson, levels above.

Tie between Colwill and Caicedo for MOTM, both had to cover for multiple players and were immense.

I felt sorry for Caicedo, he looked knackered at the end. Had to do the work for the midfield and run back and help the defence every time they gave it away. Needs to go get on the phone to Kante and ask him how he managed it.

pretty happy with the result, tough place to get a result Bournemouth they have beaten all  the big teams in recent years

the other positive I feel is (I hope) Meresca has learned a lot from that game or at least he should have !

Taylor needs investigating - not my Chelsea tinted glasses that was up with Ovrebo !

Appalling performance, played 6 games this season and apart from 45 mins at wolves we have been sh*t.
this manager/coach needs to get his act together, NKUNKU must start at CF in front of Jackson, and get the players to pass it faster, oh, and try going forwards a bit more instead of sideways and backwards, we will get slaughtered by the bigger teams if we continue to play this way

Nah, Felix is the definition of a luxury player. Good coming off the bench at times but too many flicks and falls over a lot!

Think we need to play him and get him going. We know he has quality and a finish in him. He is a luxury but is a difference maker as well.

That's the sort of game we absolutely would have lost last season so fair play. Nkunku being on the bench is criminal.

Clearly Nkunku's body language immediately after the goal and during the interview shows to me that he is unhappy with the way he is being treated. If he is fit then keeping him on the bench until the last ten minutes of matches is criminal as you say. Its one of my biggest concerns about this system Maresca wants to play, it can marginalize some players who are the best players we have.  This lad has to start and play regularly.

Liverpool fans have been complaining about him for years, so if THEY can't get anything done we've got no chance.

No doubt he is unhappy. If he keeps being a last 10 minute sub player I expect he asks to leave, maybe as soon as January.

Best debut I’ve seen since Mudryk v Liverpool.

Encouraging but as you've (rightly) implied we need more sample size.

Felix on the other hand, hasn't changed one bit, frustrating is an understatement.

Can't believe we've gone back to slow motion,  sideways passing football again.

I can't believe we have one of the youngest squads, along with a new manager and his tactics, which every player should understand straight away. Am I right?

It wasn't even a fiery game. Competitive, but not exactly battle of the bridge stuff. If ever the record for most yellow cards were going to be shown, it would be in a match where Anthony Taylor was the ref in a Chelsea game.

Jackson is not a finisher. When the going gets tough we always relied on Drogba, Costa to win the game as they were capable of winning games on their own. Jackson is not that guy and it doesn't look likely he would become one. Nkunku on the other hand can actually create goal out of nothing and is closer to Drogba/Costa  even though his profile is different. Maresca should have Jackson to do some bench warming for a change and let Nkunku play few full games.

We rode our luck, however that is football. Also considering we had three of our CM out who would have partnered Caicedo in Enzo, Lavia and KDH, we did well. Especially defensively. Bar Fofana's silly pass which led to their penalty, I thought him and Colwill were excellent. Fofana looked really good at driving the ball out with his feet. Caicedo was brilliant too. Palmer was below par today. I thought at 1-0 he was a bit of a liability defensively and was not offering much, however brilliant, important 3 points.

Sancho was really good, but very unfair for them to not give MOTM to Sanchez who was brilliant in goal. Made very important saves, was commanding and made a good penalty save too. Bring on the Hammers.

Teams were told at the start of the season, players would be booked for kicking the ball away, approaching the ref and dissent, so why are our players and coach mouthing off? Only Sanchez, Colwill and Forfana booked for fouls, Veiga booked for jumping into crowd!
