Alejandro Garnacho - Now moved to Villa!

Villa fans are saying Garnacho is specifically requested by Emery, and that they can't outright buy him, as it would be considered a 'swap deal' considering how recently we bought Rogers.

Both on Garnacho's side and the club's side, I don't think they'll entertain anything that isn't an obligation.

If they signed him permanently in this window it would be considered a swap. There has to be a 45 day gap between signings and there aren’t enough days let in this TW.

He could be taken on loan with the condition being say Villa not being relegated.

You would think our lot are wise to Villa’s crafty moves in the market. Didn’t they pull something similar with Liverpool’s Elliott last season, and refuse to buy him? They have £117m+ burning a hole in their pocket, has to be a mandatory obligation to buy.

How can it be considered a swap, it clearly isn't one...

As long as it gets him out I'm all for it

Previously, any deals between the same clubs in the same window were captured as a player exchange. But on 1 June 2026, UEFA changed the rule. Now if you wait 45 days, it is not automatically a player exchange.

So this is actually happening. Hopefully the conditions to trigger the transfer next summer are easy to achieve.

You keep forgetting they refused to play Harvey Elliott because they didn’t think he was worth £35m. Wouldn’t trust that lot.

Villa are well on the way to becoming my 2nd favourite team. 😊

alroooooite up the villa ! (Get your wallet out)

tbh if we get 5 mill loan fee and dont have to look at him for 12 months it will do.

Well then Villa cannot loan both Garnacho and Jackson. Apparently Emery wants both. What your saying is they are not allowed to sign either then?

Can't we sell him to Strasbourg who then sell him to Villa after a short period (say half an hour or so) of buyers remorse ?

Believe it or not that sort of process has a name ( can’t immediately remember what it’s called ) but is banned

Villa buy Jackson and Garnacho now. We take Rogers on a half season loan with an obligation to buy in January.

Does that satisfy all the red tape ?

Sadly no. UEFa have said that if they believe the obligation is too way to meet they will deem it to be a permant transfer from the date of loan

Saudi club just came in for Summerville.

Roma might be back

They will be desperate now, hopefully they try and buy him rather than take a loan.

Once again, absolutely fair play to the sporting directors (as much as we all despise them) for admitting their mistake on this one. Gun to my head, thought their pride would be too much and would force him on Alonso, to continue the charade.

Garnacho being the preferred transfer target over Jackson says a lot.

The disrespect the young man has received on here yet a multiple European Champion rates him higher than the f**king donkey.

Just a point worth making

Here's a point worth making coz I just looked it up:

There is no difference between a donkey and a jackass; a jackass is simply the specific term for an adult male donkey. The word combines "jack" (the traditional nickname for a male donkey) and "ass" (the formal scientific and historical name for the species).

So, in this case we have both a donkey and a Jackass that Villa are supposedly interested in, but in truth, probably won't want to buy either one permanently. Personally, I'd let them have both for free and throw in a few bags of carrots.
