I really do not want the player but the continued links seem to suggest that this is in fact happening. The only real option is a loan and then we can send him the way of Sancho in a years time.

Joao Pedro is very good player.

Because he has disciplinary issues and hasn't shown consistency in his career to date. I didn't mind the signing though because every time I watched him properly, I thought he was class. If he can make those CWC performances a regular thing, he will be the big surprise of the season. Everybody is talking about Gyokeres, Ekitike and Sesko, but if Pedro finds consistency, he can be better than all 3.

It's pathetic to admit, but really this all comes down to his annoying face. Even if he's twatting in the goals, he's just a very very annoying guy. You usually see these kinds of faces lining up for Liverpool. Might need Giroud on loan to nullify him a little bit.

I get it. There's just something about his face that screams future ITV2 reality show contestant. Giroud would nullify most with a single smoulder.

We signed gittens for 60m. I would not pretend to know much about him but it looks like he is a young winger with decision making issue 😁😁

This is Chelsea model, it is almost impossible to find 21 year old who is already very good unless you are willing to pay big money for a Hazard/Bellingham/Haaland (Player that is wanted by pretty much all team in Europe) or you can always take a gamble hopefully you hit jackpot as we did with Palmer.

Out of the 3 player that your said, I have only watched Ekitike. Very impressive for a very big st to be able to move and control ball the way he did.

This is a big question mark for me too. He only became a regular for Brighton when he was playing so deep he was a number 8 rather than a striker or number 10. When Reece fouled him for that red card he was practically playing in central midfield. But, given the club targeted both Ekitike and Pedro, it is clear that we want him to be a sort of playmaker-striker rather than an out-and-out number 9 and we will likely see him in the starting XI with Delap more often than competing with him for the striker spot. Neither Ekitike nor Pedro have an impressive goalscoring record in context and both are valued more for their all round game. Having a player like this in the squad helps relieve the pressure on Palmer as creator.

My main worry is that he ends up another Havertz-type signing, where his versatility means he becomes a jack-of-all-trades, master of none.

Well, what does a Chelsea striker need to do? He should have at least 3 good attacking players behind him providing a good service. Instinct and intuition. Any striker would be lucky to have Cole Palmer providing assists and opportunities for him. In the silly cup - Champions of the World btw :) -Pedro seemed to have the understanding and intelligence of his teammates and he knows how to strike the ball when he gets his opportunity. He just has to keep doing that. Sounds simple enough.

This is the most obvious deal you will see in world football before the window shuts.

Never rated him as a player and his attitude stinks.

The only reason I can see us being interested is if the management sees him as a business opportunity, low risk/high reward. But that scenario only works if we get him cheap or even on loan with an option to buy.

If we stamp up Gittens/Joao Pedro kind of money for f**king Garnacho, I'll be very unhappy.

Like I said before I've resigned myself to us signing Garnacho as Winstanley is the driving force behind this deal.

Simmons has gone quiet now which has me worried, I'm not even sold on Garnacho but certainly didn't want him instead of Simmons, as well as Simmons is fine if it has to be that way.

Personally I think we should be securing Simmons in time for the start of the season and making Man Utd sweat until later in the window instead of showing our hand now.

Seems an odd way round to be doing things IMO.

The Summer transfer window is meant to be a time for hope and excitement. Even if all the new signings flop there's at least a moment in time when everything is looking on the up. The Garnacho rumours are spoiling all that. Can we just get rejected with a low ball offer and get done with it.
