Higuain is multiple levels above any striker we have at the club. And we already have three strikers at the club for one position. Depth isn't needed. Quality however is. Yeah if it was an eating competition...
August 3, 20187 yr 3 hours ago, Sindre said: Btw, Higuain confirmed in todays press conference with AC Milan that Sarri wanted him here. So clearly the manager isn't overly confident in the strikers we have at the club at the moment either. He's only had Morata and Tammy available to see play.

August 3, 20187 yr The story has already been shot down by Hodgson supposedly. Seemed a bit weird that only The Mirror were reporting it.

Still don’t understand why we passed on the Golovin deal when it was done at £25m. Vidal has signed for Barca, and could have been a short term option. Fekir will be ideal, Aouar from Lyon has immense potential and Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon is attractive because of the issues the club is facing. Have a sneaking feeling we might end up bidding for Ramsey.

Shame, I think he could’ve been a good fit for our midfield and could have came on a free.

Ramsey will do an Ozil and hold out for a massive new contract from Arsenal...of the AM out there Fakir is probably the best available...just hope his knees hold out...

August 6, 20187 yr Reports out there that we are accelerating talks with Lyon for Fekir. Not sure how reliable the source (France Football) is, but I find it a little too convenient that this report comes out the day before we play them. Edited August 6, 20187 yr by mwblue10
August 6, 20187 yr If we are going to sign an attacking midfielder then I hope it’s Aaron Ramsey. A great little player, will fit right in with Sarri’s style considering he has learnt his trade at Arsenal with their football identity. Hes also a proven goal scorer. Can’t be too expensive either, maybe 25/30m? I’m all for it.

August 6, 20187 yr Bernard is going to Everton on a free. IIRC we were linked with him a few weeks back?
August 6, 20187 yr I’m seeing some reports out of Spain that we are looking at KepaHe's good but *very* young. It'd be a hell of a gamble taking a young kid away from home like that. Maybe if we bought him this year, loaned him out like we did Courtois and played Willy this year it might make sense but I'd be concerned if we were to make honour number one this year.

He's 23 nearly 24. Hardly a young kid by any standard. Courtois had won league titles in 3 different countries by that age. He signed a contract extension in January which upped his buy out clause to €70m or €80m.

Not sure we want it to anyways?

He scores goals and crucially he presses from the front. Which we desperately need. He's also left footed which opens up lots of different options. What I have always liked about him most is he has that Hazard style low centre of gravity which makes him strong on the ball and good at receiving back to goal.
