Based on his WC, I cant help but feel Hazard is entering his true purple patch now, he looks unbelievable.

Almost like he's been saving himself most of the season by the looks of it

The only question is whether we can trust the Board, given the current state-of-affairs, to invest close to 350-400m wisely ?

I agree.

But i am now starting to think that whoever was responsible for signing DD, Baka, Morata, Zappa, (not including Barkley as it was a decent gamble) should have absolutley f**k all to do with even deciding which brand of tea to supply in the canteen. If it was Roman were f**ked.

I know he started slowly, but Drogba turned out to be a good signing:biggrin:

Since people are still focused on click-bait headlines, I'll post this in the thread again.

That's pretty far from "Eden Hazard has admitted he wants to leave Chelsea in the summer", Hazard has never really flirted with another club, and he didn't really do that now either. I think people also need to put things into perspective here, Real Madrid can't go out and spend crazy, not even with the Ronaldo fee. Hazard is not really a replacement for Ronaldo either, he's a completely different player and he'll never get close to the goals Ronaldo scores. If anything Madrid will be going for M'bappe and paying a ridiculous amount for him.

Madrid need quite a lot of players, they can't go out and raid everyone, there will be a cap somewhere, like 300 million maximum given that they just sold Ronaldo for a big fee. Madrid can't just go out and spend half a billion (which is exactly what they'll need to do if they're going to sign M'bappe, Hazard & Courtois). If they can go and do that then there will be heavy heavy heavy sh*t going on with this so-called FFP rules.

I've seen a few people mention Depay, is that the same guy who was at United? He looked brutal

Yeah same guy, though he has been much better at Lyon the past couple seasons.  Wouldnt be the first time a player initially struggled at a PL club and then came back and did well.

I actually thought Depay looked decent his first few United matches and then fell off completely.  He and Martial both probably have Van Gaal and Mourinho, respectively, to thank for their failures, they didn’t fit their systems well at all.

You know what I'd do if my name was Roman Abramovich? I'd invite Hazard to my 500 million dollar "Eclipse"  yacht and I'd say to him

If you stay, you get 300k per week plus 100k every time you score in the league.

He nets 17 goals, he gets 13.7m for the August-May period

That's like paying him 340k a week, top 5 in the world. I know I wouldn't refuse that

Courtois latest comments worry me. Basically "if i go then Eden will follow, we will not let eachother go"

And i think Courtois is signing for Real Madrid this summer..

Not quite sure why but it seems that quite a number of Belgium players can’t help themselves when it comes to talking to the press

At times Eden has been unplayable yet his scoring record in the PL (around one in three and of his 69 goals  of 13 have been penalties )really isnt that special for someone as talented as he is.

For  me the comments being reported are pretty loaded and whilst  I would love Eden to stay I think it’s time for the club to cash in.For me that also applies to Tibo. If the  club could secure £200 million that would be incredible and open up all sorts of options but no doubt we would have to pay a premium on any subsequent incoming

Some question the boards ability to spend any windfall well the measure of success in transfer dealings can’t just be measured on a player by player basis nor should it really be judged after just one season.

I don't disagree with you Terraloon, its brutal honesty with a realistic outlook. Agree that the Belgian guys are all pretty mouthy, although Hazard has been the best of the bunch.

I guess the problem is when you get a big selling fee, is that anyone you try to buy as a replacement is vastly overpriced.

That’s why we’d need to take Asensio as part of the deal I think

Trash talking from Courtois, it's not like he and Hazard played together for their whole career. I could totally see Madrid tell him, persuade Hazard go come with you, we will give you an even bigger sign on bonus. Unless Hazard puts in a transfer request, we should not enter negotiation with Madrid. If he does, we will quote a ridiculous figure. Madrid needs to sign a big name player, we don't have to sell him. If we hold on for 12 months, next year they sign Neymar and Hazard will sign with us.

He has been very good for Lyon, albeit he was used a lot as an impact sub, but he always made a difference and scored some great goals last season. I know he flopped at United, but Jose barely played him and then gave up on him.

Van Gaal also gave up on him

Didn’t he make over 40 appearances for Van Gaal? Until Jose came in and decided not to play him.

If I’m Madrid, I want Mbappe lol

Or they can have Hazard for a huge fee and we’ll take Mbappe or Neymar, I know it’s unlikely.
