You can see why many top players move to real Madrid though, apart from the great weather and being the best club in the world, these top guys, like hazard, have to continually carry their teams and they probably want to be amongst others who carry each other. Well thats clearly wrong, everything we do goes through Fabregas, Hazard is also massively involved, as is Costa and Matic. Not sure where Hazard is carrying us.

Hazard isn't carrying us! It's a team effort and everyone contributes positively to the team in some way.

 

Matic and Fabregas are crucial for our defensive midfield stocks and we are substantially weaker without them. Fabregas has also been the leader of assisting others this year.

 

Costa is a huge presence up front and with his constant menacing threat at goal, defenders have to pay a lot of attention to him which as a result can free up the likes of Hazard and Oscar to score more goals.

 

Without John Terry leading the way in defence alongside Ivanovic, Cahill and Azpilicueta our team would be very poor and much more vulnerable to conceding more goals.

 

Courtois has had an outstanding first season in the goals and with Cech still being an ever reliable second-choice now this has forced Courtois to perform to even a higher standard to retain his spot for the side. Competition for spots is always a great thing. 

 

There's no doubt that Hazard is a hugely important player for us but with recent additions to the squad he's not carrying the burden of the side that he may have had once especially when we didn't have Matic and a good and reliable striker up front like Costa. 

I get the same anticipation as i used to watching Zola and its great.He is working hard for the team and has a good personality(same as Zola)Much more to come from Eden methinks.

There comes a point where he needs a few games rest, but at the moment he is too influential. We could cope without costa (we have done already) and fabregas to a certain extent, but without hazard our creation and attack options are hugely diminished. No one else in our team is as good as he is at creating from nothing.

Sometimes its good to be a player that carries a team not that i think he does though. You get the ball more and you feel more responsibility and you're the star player. At a team like Madrid he would be just another player wouldn't get the ball as much. I reckon Suarez and Bale played better at Liverpool and Spurs and most likely enjoyed there football when they were the stars players now there just "another player".

Despite the result and defensive performance was a pleasure watching Hazard play today.

Phenomenal performance despite the result really playing well at the moment.

In trying times, people show their true mettle. Eden stepped up today and fought all match long. Utterly brilliant, never stopped looking for the ball and took his goal well.

 

Awesome.

The only player who showed some 'balls'. The way he was winning the headers, countering them.. and everything... he gave his all for the team.

 

He has all my respect.

Clearly did not deserve to be on the losing side today. Absolute shame. Love having him at our club.

Hazard was bloody brilliant today in a terrible side.

 

Not only was his skill amazing in his goal and chance creating, but he never stopped looking for the ball and didn't stop trying until the final whistle.

 

Phenomenal player.

We really need a good right winger who can prove atleast 50 % of the attacking threat Hazard poses. If Hazard gets injured/banned we're f**ked for a big time.

 

He's carries the whole attacking burden himself behind the striker as the other winger and our #10 doesn't poses much threat. I hope Jose really sort this out.

Exactly, he is our most irreplaceable player the more I see us relying on him the more I want us to go out and actually spend a sum to bring a better right winger here in the summer, January is very wishful thinking.

I still think that would be true if we didn't have such poor wingers (in comparison to Hazard) but Hazard's performance tonight made me realise that he really is our most important player.

Like I always said, Hazard is our most important player. I just hope we will have him for a long time.
