April 29, 201610 yr If Oscar was being mentioned at £57 mill, surely Willian is worth more, sell them both, get Griezmann, and a Right sided attacking Forward.
April 29, 201610 yr http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelseas-willian-50m-target-chinese-7855656 Wanted for £50 million apparently.....would you take it if it's true ? I know he has been our player of the season, but that is a hell of a lot of money. He's arguably player of the season in a poor season. The reality is that his contribution in the league has been average and his eye-catching free kicks seem to have been a fluke. £50 million is £10 million for every league goal this season. If there's a player we can sign who can give us more than I'd be inclined to cash in because that is top player money for a player who probably won't reach those levels.
April 29, 201610 yr I think we should sell anyone that the Chinese are prepared to overpay for. £107M for Willian and Oscar is a no brainer for me !
April 29, 201610 yr Problem is, all okay saying take £50 mill for Willian, £30 mill for Oscar, £70 mill for Hazard and £40 mill for Costa etc etc, and yes the players and team have been poor, and I was one for binning them all earlier in season when we were near bottom, but stepping back and thinking it all through again, we can't sell all our prize assets (if you can call them that) as remember we are not in a position to attract new top players. We can't use Champions league as an attraction! the London thing is no good as we are now Londons third club! and money won't win, as all the other clubs have tv money! as sh*t as this lot have been, we will have to keep a nucleus of them and add youth and some second rate players. I hear players like Pogba, Greizman, Higuian etc mentioned, get real guys, no chance theyre coming here, even players like Stones (£40 mill joke money) he won't come here he's city or utd bound. God I hope I'm wrong and this season was just a blip and bad dream, but come October I think we might well see us still scratching around 9th or 10th again and realise that this season wasn't a blip but reality. Supporting Chelsea is what its all about, winning is great and winning trophies superb ( two of the best days of my life were wembley 97 and munich) but whether we're sh*t or good supporting the team is the real buzz, nothing better than walking out the house saturday morning or Sunday, down the local spoons for breakfast then train upto Victoria and onto the bridge. Top of the prem or the old Div two, chelsea is chelsea what ever

Top of the prem or the old Div two, chelsea is chelsea what ever Oscar and Willian aren't prize assets though (don't tell the Chinese). Oscar could possibly have a future under Conte although that's looking iffy and Willian has never been especially productive. He works hard/runs around a lot but his numbers are quite frankly pathetic. If teams are prepared to pay way over the odds when we have players like Pedro and Cuadrado already in the squad, and youngsters like Kenedy, Musonda, Baker, Boga etc. waiting on the sidelines, I think it has to be looked at seriously. I know he has been our player of the season, but that is a hell of a lot of money. It would be incredible stupid to sell one of our most effective and reliable players, especially given our prospects for next season. I don't understand why many fans are primarily concerned about the club's profit margins. Some people need to face reality; we will have significantly less appeal this summer to the kind of players we should be signing.

Totally agreed with you up until the Cuadrado bit. The Chinese can have Oscar & Willian for obscene sums of money but only if they agree to take Cuadrado too.
April 29, 201610 yr Pointless getting the monet, we waste it on sh*t signings most of the timr anyway. Cuadrado for 27m anyone?
April 29, 201610 yr Pointless getting the monet, we waste it on sh*t signings most of the timr anyway. Cuadrado for 27m anyone? I do think we should give Conte a chance to sign a few players HE likes ... so am definitely in favour of him having some sort of war chest. If we can offload a few players for squillions to fund it then all the better ...
April 29, 201610 yr Totally agreed with you up until the Cuadrado bit. The Chinese can have Oscar & Willian for obscene sums of money but only if they agree to take Cuadrado too. Cuadrado was useless for us but he came in at a tough point in the season where we just didn't change the team, so he was getting minutes here and there. He was unimpressive and there's a good argument to sell him now when his value to Juve would be fairly high but Conte likes him and he's versatile. Plus he's actually looked decent for Juve this season. Is that enough to sell Willian? I think Willian is a little overrated by some people, and £50 million for him is about £15 million more than I'd happily sell him for. Willian will also be missing for the start of next season if he gets his way and plays in the Olympics and Copa America. Not sure how that affects Cuadrado or other players, but it's unfortunate that when we're looking to bounce back under a new coach he might not actually be here. That's not me having a pop at him, but it is slightly frustrating. Also, yes Serie A is a different proposition and it didn't translate well last time, but considering we're chasing Pogba, Vidal, Bonucci and Nainggolan then I don't think that will be much of an obstacle to our thinking. April 29, 201610 yr £50m? I'd bite their hand off for it. Wouldn't even need to worry about getting an immediate replacement because of the reduce number of games we'll be playing next season. I'd be looking to reinvest the money into the defence. Edited April 29, 201610 yr by ForeverCarefree
April 29, 201610 yr With the money we got for Ramires i think we could squeeze more out of them, however i'd take anything over 50mil. He's never really lived up to his price tag in my opinion.

April 29, 201610 yr I can't believe there's folk here talking as if these players are lifeless commodities that we can just sell, put in a box and FedEx them off to China. The players will be uprooting their entire lives and changing the course of their careers. Neither Willian or Oscar are at the over-the-hill stage and I would imagine still have plenty of ambition. Ramires arguably had nothing else to achieve in European football and was approaching 30, but that's not the case for Willian, certainly not Oscar. The decision will ultimately come down to them. The only way I see them saying 'yes' to China is if they have a very persuasive agent.

You're right that the decision ultimately comes down to them but people here will obviously have the needs of the club at the forefront of their thinking.

They'd be stupid to stay at Chelsea on 80k a week when they can go and earn 280k a week in China. They have short careers and should rake in as much as possible.
April 29, 201610 yr i would sell him for that kind of money, but it would also depends on who's available to replace himwithout him we only have 4 wingers, Pedro Hazard Kenedy and Traore, which isn't a very convincing options if you ask mewe are however being linked with Mkhitaryan, though not sure whether there's any real substance in that
