Andre Schurrle

Featured Replies

A hard worker, clinical finisher, makes great runs. He's the guy i want on our wing. He just offers so much more than Willian. Willian is someone you want coming off the bench when the opposition get tired.

Still think willain is more suited tl playing center mid alongside a matic.. works very hard, great acceleration, can go in any direction but the thing that really helps him stand out is his close control and first touch, second perhaps only to hazard.. it's obvious that andre is more of an instinctive finisher and I'm glad he's finding form but it shouldn't take away from what willian has given is this year in big game like Liverpool and city were He was instrumental

He made a massive difference to Willian if you compare yesterdays performance to the home tie vs Galatasaray.

Numerous times in the Gala game we broke through on goal only for either Oscar or Willian to slow it down or make the wrong decision, and ultimately we wasted every break we created and failed to put the game to bed.

Last night Schurrle had 2 breaks in the first 7 minutes of the game, the first one he plays in Eto'o and the second he scores himself, no fluffing around and no slowing it down.

For me Schurrle has earned a run in the first team now, likely at Willian's expense.

Think you raise a fair point, him or Ramires, rather than both for most games.

Gala I saw sparks Oscar is coming back to some form, today further proved that feeling.

So as much as the commentator against Gala felt that our 3 behind the striker should be settled I agree with you, Schurrle has earned a start against Palace.

I hope Jose allows him this and, if possible, sticks with the same starting 11 that won today.

I see Willian as a versatile squad player playing 2nd fiddle to Oscar or Schurle and Schurle as our first choice on the right, he is a hard worker, his determination really shows, his finishing is the best out the whole squad, he just doesn't hesitate, his tracking back and defensive qualities may not be quite as good as Willian's but going forward he is a mile better. The way it was lined up yesterday is how I'd like to see it lined up in all big games for the rest of the season. I thought luiz was excellent, recently I've always assumed he's gone at the end of the season, but when I see him in the DM role I think it will be hard replacing him with the money we will get for him, especially being that he is versatile enough to cover at CB if needed.

I'm sure a few of are aware by now that I'm quite a big fan of Schürrle.

I just like his directness in attack and I don't think he slows us down in the same way that our other attacking midfielders can be guilty of.

For me, he's played his way into the starting XI now and seems to be adapting to the role on the right having mostly played from the left of centre in this career up to now.

It's between Oscar and Willian to play through the middle now and they have to prove their worthy of their place because Hazard and Schürrle both deserve to play because they are creating too much not to right now.

Oscar's two goals at the weekend for me means that WIllian should start from the bench against Palace.

Fast becoming one of my favourite players in the squad.

I don't think Schurrle is ever going to be our best player but his directness and finishing ability is fantastic.

I think next season we might see a much improved player having had time to settle into a new country and league.

I'm expecting him to start this weekend against Swansea and I wouldn't bet against him to score again, he's fast becoming one of our biggest goal threats with his intelligent movement off the ball.

That little touch from Luiz was crucial, certainly makes Alex look like the fool..

Quickly becoming one of my favourites too, I feel that Schurrle unlike all our other attacking midfielders is always emotionally invested in the game and always gives his all.

You can see why his goal record in the Bundesliga and the German national team is impressive. Direct, great movement of the ball and a very good finisher. He nearly scored a Schurrle trademark when he hit he crossbar. Reminds me a bit of Thomas Muller but quicker.

Was not impressed at all with his tecunique, dribbling and general play on the ball. He looked clueless on the left wing, trying to literally stumble his way through players or just dash through them. His control, passing everything looked off. Recently though, he has shown he can be a good player. Good off the ball, hardworking, DIRECT, and a clinical finisher (plus he seems like a nice geezer.)

I think the directness is different to the others. Hazard on the left is really frustrating at times, slowing play down so often. Willian also likes to have one or two extra touches before making a move.

I love his attitude. Most players would end up sulking if they weren't getting a run in the team and were told they would need to work harder and change their physical game. Not Schurrle, got his head down and did what Jose asked him to do...Now he's one of the first names on the team sheet for us atm and has scored some very important goals. Long may it continue!

Im sure im not the only one that extremely dislikes Willian as the CAM, he makes great direct runs then slows down, stops, waits for the defence to get back in position before making a move.

Andre though is top class. The man is also rapidly becoming one of my squad favourites, his finishing is amazing and you can see by his social media activity recently he's beginning to settle here! Excited for him next season.

Schurrle has chimed in on recent results and reaction to them:

"Winning is what matters. It's the most important thing, if people look at us and say 'Chelsea can't play', even when we win, it's just because they're jealous.

You can play perfect football, have lots of one-touch stuff, and you lose. But that's not what you want - you want to win. There's no point in playing well and losing.

If our plan is to win playing this way, and we win, then it is perfect."

Half an hour into the Norwich game and he's had two good shots saved and also hit the post. What I like about him is he always creates chances for himself, either by making good runs into the box or making room for himself around the 18 yard line to have a shot.

I'm not a fan of Schurrle in all honesty. He works hard and has a pretty good finish on him, but usually he seems to be so poor techically with sloppy dribbling and control. Today though, I have to admit, there were some good signs.

His dribbling and first touch was all a lot better.

Apart from Hazard I think Schurrle offers the most going forward. Defenders can never seem to guess if he's going to set someone up or charge at them and take a shot himself.

Schurrle / E. Hazard / T. Hazard / Willian / Salah could do for our AM's next season.

Oscar is up-in-the-air at the moment. If the opportunity arises for us to sell him to Paris Saint-Germain in a part-deal for Edinson Cavani I would probably take it.
