Ramires - anyone else frustrated?

Featured Replies

it's being rumoured £20 million. wouldn't say that's too fantastic tbh.

It's a few million more than what we paid for him a few years ago, and if this allows us to get a player that we need (a striker) right now in January, then I'd be all for it. He's not getting regular playing time, so I think it would be a good deal for everyone concerned.

i think he's worth more considering he is still in his prime and a decent player. on his day he is a very good player and any team would love to have a player of his abilities in their squad.

I think 20-25 million sounds about right to me. He's not a star player who will get you huge shirt sales, but a dependable hard working midfielder, who still has a few good years in him. How much do you think would be the right price for him?

25-30 million. if we get 25 for him then i would be happy i think, but would be a shame if we let him go for 20 and not get that extra 5+ million for him. doesn't sound much, but that extra few million is very useful. in a different league, especially the chinese league, he would be flourish a lot. it's actually quite embarrassing to mention his name with the chinese league as he is good enough to play in italy or germany for sure.

so weird

find it hard to imagine that no team in europe would be interested in him. if he is told that his future at chelsea will be limited to a seat on the bench, then i find it unfathomable that he wouldnt accept a slight pay cut to go and play for a decent team in italy, germany or spain.

perhaps money talks and this move to china represents a massive hike in his wages. a previous poster did however mention that drogs and anelka ended up leaving china over pay disputes, i wouldnt be surprised to see ramires re-surfacing in europe after an ill-fated 18 month spell out east

if 25m is actually a legitimate figure that is being touted then i would be snapping their hands off for it and packing his bags for him. a loyal member of the squad and has been involved in some good times at chelsea, but its time to move him on and clear out some squad positions that could be adequately filled by any number of our promising talents that are currently stagnating on loan / in the reserves.

He was being linked with PSG and Munich earlier in the week.

'Chelsea are closing to selling midfielder Ramires in this transfer window, with Bayern Munich and PSG interested in the 28-year-old.'

The BBC seem to be running with it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35404103

Seems strange and sudden considering he signed a long new contract less than three months ago, also a little sad considering how long he's been with us, and that he's nearly played 250 games, and such a crucial part in one of our greatest moments.

On the other hand, he's played less than half an hour of league football since Guus came in (as well as 90 minutes in the cup), and one thing a hefty contract extension will do is bump up his transfer value - it is entirely possible that we've been thinking of flogging him for a while.

You being serious? Worth more than 25m? We are lucky to find some mugs to pay that much for him. It's great business.

I'm sure Barca would love to have those abilities in there squad hahahahaha

Will be kind of sad to see him go, but he's too good to sit on the bench every game and maybe not good enough to start for us so I guess it makes sense. Certainly will be thankful for his contribution to our club, but nice to see Chelsea maybe leaving a position there for Loftus Cheek.

He doesn't play that often for us and when he does he rarely has a good game. We are lucky to be getting over £10 million for him. If he goes for £20-£25 million that would be amazing.

Honestly just waiting for confirmation. Think the club will be making the best decision if they let RLC take his spot in the team.

He's only 28 and is going to play in the Chinese league... That is such a waste considering he could definitely still play for a top half premier league, La Liga, Bundesliga or Serie A team.

Remember Drogba and Anelka went to China and then had to leave because their club couldn't afford to pay them any more?  I'd be a little hesitant to get too excited about rumours of Chinese clubs signing any of our players

Also, I believe this club tried to buy Adriano for a pretty ridiculous fee, but could not afford to pay his wages and the deal fell through as well. This might actually come down to the clubs agreeing, but the player refusing the move.

Something of a contradiction there surely ? Personally I agree with the second option.

On Talk****e this afternoon they were saying a possible move to China for around £20m, incredible price if we can get it.

He has been useful in the past but currently id say that he's not good enough to be in our squad which is why nowadays I consider him to be dead wood.

Insane that it's rumoured to be for £25m, are we sure that's not Chinese Yuan Renminbi?

He's been a great servant in his time here, never moaned when he was on the bench or not picked & done a job when called upon, seemed a really likeable guy, just not a technically gifted player (bar that goal) but I wish him all the best if he does go.

I'll always remember this fondly...
