De Gea, Navas, Neuer, Oblak, Alisson, Donnarumma, Ter Stegen, Buffon unanimously, still wondering about Lloris, Ederson, Trapp and Handanovic.

I wonder how many of those would be available if Courtois left? That's the only thing that counts. It doesn't matter if there's 100 better goalkeepers out there if we have no chance of signing any of them.

I've seen Courtois get stick for seemingly not making enough spectacular Hollywood saves, which is weird to me. You only have to look back at that period earlier this year where Caballero had a run of games to realise that you only really appreciate a top goalkeeper when you no longer have one.

All team stats^

Well it is a team game.

But any GK keeping a better than 1 in 3 clean sheet record with that donkey Cahill in front of him has to be good.

No offence but you can hardly apply stats to a goalkeeper to get any idea of how good they really are. You just need to watch them play for that.

With no CL football and with the board's reluctance to pay big transfer fees, even if we sold Courtois for decent money, who could we realistically replace him with?

I'll be shot down for saying this and it won't happen of course but I'm always far happier when Willy is in goal. Promote him!

There was a rumour about us looking at Peter Gulacsi at RB Leipzig a few months ago - that's about the level I'd imagine we'd be looking at. I'm not sure even Donnarumma would come here, he could win back the AC fans if he stays at Milan. Personally I don't think Courtois will sign a new contract but will stay for another season.

I like him, but he gives me a heart attack once or twice a match.

Isn’t Allison realistic?

I'd be surprised if we do without CL, can see him or Oblak signing for Liverpool (another "statement signing" etc).

I know, but looking at our history we’ll be back up there fighting for the title again in no time. Perhaps even as early as next season.

Wish I had your optimism, can't see us challenging anytime soon with Barkley/Bakayoko/Pedro/Cahill/Fabregas/Moses/Zappacosta - we need to ship them all out this summer imho.

I know who I'd prefer in goal for  fa cup finals and Munich and they were post head injury!

Pretty poor timing considering Courtois has just recently played a huge part in us winning the FA Cup.

In terms of consistency, Courtois blows post head injury Cech out of the water. Cech played consistently well for half of 09-10 and 10-11 but either side of that was inconsistent after his return from injury, look at these highlights to see how hesitant Cech was at times.

All 3 of those make Courtois at the Camp Nou look like a Munich performance. Andy Gray did an hour long analysis after the Stoke game above trying  to work out what the hell has happened to him. At one point it was reported we were looking to bring in Canizares for a while.

Now, Cech overall is a legend and was incredible for us ofcourse, but it wasn't all tea party's in Munich with him either.

I'm not sure courtios played a huge roll in us winning the cup this year, if I remember right he only played the final? and one save safe from rashford which was good but a standard 1:1 and to fair some routine crosses. Anyway I believe it's best we keep courtios as the alternatives are much poorer.

It's not so much hollywood saves i ask for, it's saves in general. The guy just hasn't been finding a way to keep the ball out of the net like the best keepers tend to do. Courtois is excellent at holding onto a ball and from set pieces, but his ability to make saves isn't that great. We have been seeing it all season, he's quite easy to score against.

I don't want us to sell Courtois, but i don't think he's irreplaceable.

For me the objective next season should be to pack the midfield and force opponents out wide (same as this season but with 4 at the back), in that respect there's noone better than Courtois at gathering crosses, even Alisson/Oblak don't come close to Courtois imho.

I'm surprised several people feel unbothered if Courtois leaves. In my opinion, it could be a massive loss and we may struggle to find a good goalkeeper for a long time. There is no guarantee that all the names being mentioned will do well at Chelsea, or that we would even be able to get them. Courtois might not be making acrobatic saves like De Gea, but at least we know that we have someone we can rely on between sticks. It also helps that he is young.

I think some of us, or at least  I can speak for myself, understand tibo would most likely want to be closer to his kids. So is not a situation in our control. If that means most to him then no fat contract will change it so we have to make the best of it.

Can't believe there's fans who would be happy to replace Courtois with Pickford.

Can't believe there's fans who genuinely don't rate him, they must be blinded by the fact they don't like his personality (admitedly he doesn't come across well a lot of the time) that's the only reason i can think off.
