Sign butland for the reported £20m plus addons, then if he us as sh*t as alot of us suspect he might be, we bring a 1st choice keeper next summer, and have butland as a homegrown back up for a season or 2, before he gets sick of it and leaves.

What if Sari got hired earlier and what If he signed Tibos replacement was signed before the world cup. We would be in no rush to get a replacement in and we would have time to negotiate a price for him. Now we are left in limbo and we are likely forced to sell.  Stoke will no doubt overprice Butland to take advantage of the lack of time left in the window.

all the websites reported Real will not increase the price, and signing a replacement before selling weakens our position

lets wait and c what happens 

Courtois is literally f**king the club over by letting this story play out in the media. It's the last thing the club need on just about every measurable level. 

He has literally destroyed any shred of leverage we may have had with both Real Madrid, and any club we will be negotiating with for a replacement. 

If he had even an ounce of respect for Chelsea he would immediately make a statement refuting the reports of him going awol. 

I suspect the reports are true, and they very much suit his agenda to force a move, so I doubt we will hear anything from him.  It's ironic that the one time we could actually do with him running to the media, I suspect he will keep quiet.

Both the club and the player majorly at fault imo. Courtois wanted to be closer to his family that he has been distant from since his move to London, this was not all about a pay rise. With his contract running out next year and the likelihood of more poor performances coming this season if he stays as a result of zero motivation, why have we let this play out until less than a week before the new season starts. It's seriously unprofessional from Courtois as well not to turn up, but the club once again have handled things appallingly. Once again we're going into a season unprepared and with an unsettled team

Who couldn't have seen this coming. The guy always had a feeling of someone who wasn't afraid to burn his bridges. I've always rated him as a keeper but this will put him up there with Poyet and other snakes.

Best case scenario in my view is to negotiate some sort of cash plus Courtois option for Oblak from Atletico. I wouldn't think we could get that done. So we'll see what is available in the panic station instead.

Once again an enormous screw up by our board. Alisson was never challenged really heading to Liverpool, we have had all summer knowing this was a risk that needed to be managed, and yet here we are. We desperately need a DoF who is capable of managing these things. With all respect to Marina there are too many things going askew.

I'd love Real Madrid to withdraw there interest tomorrow, he would look like a right twit.
