Thibaut Courtois

Featured Replies

He has dropped so many hints its ridiculous.  The club had every opportunity to take the bull by the horns and deal with this situation, yet they have sat on their hands. The goalkeeping market has moved on a notch financially and we could have easily have been in control of the situation. If we had sold him at the beginning of the window and doubled the amount that we received for hm, most top keepers in this market could have been available, for a net cost to us of £30m - £35m

Acting like a complete dick head

f**k him, drop him and let him rot in the reserves for a year and watch his stock plummet is my initial reaction. Getting a mere 30 odd million for him to get what he wants and shaft us annoys the f**k out of me.

Ruined any good feeling he had at the club, what a complete idiot.

My question to many here is if we wanted to sign Courtois lets say from Arsenal and he was absent from their training forcing a move to Chelsea would you consider him a prick? I'm pretty sure many here wouldn't.

I think these situations should be handled much better. Going awol is last ditch which must have been the case with him. I think this is highly unprofessional but pretty normal in football.

He's a pussy. He keeps talking to the media but doesn't tell the board directly he wants to leave. Marina must have bigger balls than some of the men at the club. Maybe they don't have the bottle to tell her this face to face.

Yes because it's a prickish move regardless.

It's not really common though is it? It happens now and then due to certain types of arrogant, selfish personalities who can't handle not getting what they want. The vast majority of players get on with it and knuckle down b3caus they are paid well to play football.

It's certainly not normal in football as you are putting it.

Wonder if he will be at training tomorrow and just got granted an extra day with his commitments in Belgium yesterday.

If he is not there tomorrow then he may well be on strike. Unless KRC has any news on this?

Just on that apparently he did the same when he moved to us from Genk, went on strike to force the move. @Krc-fan is that true?

just remember Tibo by this play

I believe the argument has been settled now Cech>>>Tibo - enough said

There was never any argument, cech won us trophy's with performances, like Munich and Wembley cup finals 10/12 can anyone remember a massive game where Courtois performance was game changing? Well nou camp last season!!!! Comparing the two is like comparing a rusty old Austin Allegro and a Jaguar E type.

Courtois is 26 and won the PL twice, just like Cech at the same age, don't be silly. He also won La Liga with Atletico.

He was an essential player of both PL and a La Liga titles, i don't need to remember the specific games he was outstanding to realize this, just like i didn't for Cech too. He was also amazing against us in that Atletico tie.

He is a good keeper, thats it. He is certainly replaceable.

He is not fit to lace Cech's boots (in his prime). Petr was a completely different level to him. People will always argue over who was better, Schmeichel or Cech.  I have never warmed to him like other Chelsea players, he is not a true Chelsea man.  No real loyalty. He often threw out mixed signals to the press, saying he wants away one minute, then the next saying he's very happy (usually after dropping a clanger!)

His kids are in Madrid and he has a broken relationship with the mother, so thats part of why he wants to go, and we should honour that. We should have sold him right after the world cup. I suspect we tried to court him into staying for far too long. We are not going to get big money for him no matter what, he goes for free next year, so we will be lucky to get anything above £35M.

I sincerely hope the club have a decent option lined up, its not like this has caught them by surprise.. Late in the game now.

If not, give Willy a full season and see what he can do. No cheeky lobs please, Willy.

The show must go on.

He did, didn't he? I thought he went AWOL at Genk just before we signed him and loaned him to Atletico.

Kepa for me...yeah it's a lot of dough but a young keeper who can distribute well and sweeps...perfect for Sarri Ball...plus lots of Spaniards in team to help him adapt...only reason he didn't join RM in January was that he had a metatarsal injury that ruled him out till March...

He's won us many big games, including our two most recent.

Good morning!

No news so far, Axman2526. But I'm sure we will get some correct Chelsea information soon.
