Maybe I'm being overly negative but I'd take top six next season, top four to me seems unrealistic.

You're going to have Utd, City, Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea all holding expectations to qualify for the Champions League. That's not even including the current champions, Leicester. Whatever the case, there's going to be a lot of disappointed chairmen come this time next year.

Me neither. Top four would be a good first season for Conte after the disaster we had. This allows him to progress and challenge. I don't think we will challenge though.

I agree. I fear it may be a lot harder than ee think to bounce back from 10th to the top 4 in one season, in view of the competition. Also, I'm not holding my breath that wholesale clearout is going to happen, never mind getting in some new fresh and eager players to give us a much needed lift.

It depends on who we sign. I don't think we have a chance to get a CL spot with Cahill, Ivanovic, Baba and Mikel getting majority of the gametime and Costa missing alot of games due to injuries and suspension.

Top 4 if we sign some good players need at least 4 quality enforcements.

And a trophy Fa cup or league cup would do nicely for first season under conte

If Conte gets players he wants I see us going for PL trophy, Jose will be on our way. I think Pep will have tough time in Premier League.

Let's not underestimate Conte, he's one of the best manages along with Simeone, Jose, Pep, Ancelotti.

f**k it. We're gonna win the treble.

Tbh, it'll probably be a top 4 finish and a domestic cup win (plus a good cup run for the other).

You can be damn sure Mr Roman will be expecting nothing less than us challenging for the title.

Finish outside the top four and we will probably be discussing our next "new" manager this time next year.

I doubt that very much. He was still holding obto José when top slipped out of reach, it was only when we entered the relagation battle he was forced to pull the trigger. If José had managed to turn it around just a little bit and finished top 6 he would still be here

Depends on who we sign and who we jettison (Remy, Falco,Mikel, Matic, Oscar to name a few)  Lots of cash around the league now so any decent players will be able to pick and choose where they ply their trade.

I don't see any big stars coming in, but FFS we need some defensive help along the back four and defensive midfield; hopefully Zuma although still a bit green will be back and hopefully Christiansen and him will be coached by JT  which will force Cahill and Ivan onto the sidelines (please no more Ivan and RB) or onto the transfer list; the rest of the players I can live with if they stay.

Really don't expect much except a Euro-place, a top 4 would be a bonus...I think Roman needs to lower his expectations and spend a couple of years in the wilderness to get our identity back or go whole hog and spend, spend, spend like Real Madrid if he wants Chelsea to be a world power in club football...which is highly unlikely given the ambition of a new ground on the agenda.

I think the Jose situation was more complicated than just league position. He'd created a toxic atmosphere and had to go regardless of league position, imo.

Agree with your general sentiment about Roman being less trigger happy now though. Perhaps wishful thinking, but I can't believe he's not learnt from past mistakes - particularly Ancelotti.

Sod Roman, what are you expecting ?

I know it sounds ambitious but I expect us to go for the title and worst case scenario finish top 4 and win a Cup.

The squad is still the one who won the EPL and if we offload a few players and buy smart then we can have a very balanced team. This combined with the lack of European football should give us a chance for the title.

I think Jose, Pep and Poch will have a huge pressure to deliver results, while Conte is off the radar, no one apart from Roman expect him to deliver the title.

When he took over Juventus they just finished 2 seasons on the 7th place and had no European football to offer prospective signings. Sounds familiar?  And he convinced Pogba to join Juve and made him the star he is today.

Let's hope we keep the key players and freshen up the defence, then why not the title?

Expectation is pretty low for me. While I hope we return to our regular top four berth, challenge for the league and win the fa cup I expect a timid season, conte to be sacked and guus to replace him in March on another temporary spell, leading to atleticos gaffa agreeing to be our next boss after.
