Really? A manager who gives youth a chance cannot play one of our youth forwards if he does not trust Giroud? 

Yes but he scores goals! Apparently...

Shame. He was the best finisher on the team. He might muck up everything else, but the man could finish. 

Now he's not doing that, so he's a serious liability.

He had a few good games coming off the bench at the start of the season and I was actually recovering that old optimism I had for him. But not anymore, sell him, he'll never be good enough. 

He actually did pretty well in link up play, but when it came to the finish he absolutely wet the bed. He has no confidence in finishing now whereas look at Giroud with his chance after not playing for so long, Michy should be demoted to 3rd choice.

Nothing more to say that hasn't been said for 3 seasons. He can't play outside the box and against proper defences he looks a bit clueless. Again much like Jorginho. He's a nice guy but the Premier League is a bridge too far for him.

Giroud by contrast was superb when he came on deserved a goal and an assist. He is the answer for the rest of the season. Frank and Jody just have to make the call. 

I'm not sure why Frank started him over Giroud to be honest. I can only assume Giroud wasn't fit enough or something. 

Offered nothing in attack, can't run, pass, or hold on the ball, and most important can't hit the target , People said Giroud was sh1t because last time he started he was awful, but Batshuayi has been awful just about everytime he played.

If that's the case, Giroud hasn't been fit for the majority of the season. It is annoying pigheadedness to continue playing a striker who is, not just out of form, but never in it to begin with.

He still offers far more to the team than Batshuayi ever did. In the big games with Tammy out, I would go with Giroud everytime.

He had a really good game against Liverpool early in the season. But an absolute mare against West Ham. 

At the moment though Batshuayi is doing himself no favours, he's even losing his clinical edge which is something he only ever used to offer, so at the moment he's useless.

Hes f**king sh*t, and stop defending him with this "wrong foot" rubbish, an international striker in that position doesnt have a wrong foot the useless clogger. He should never play for us again, he`s a liability and we need rid of him no matter what the loss we make on him.

He isnt good enough. Maybe as a 3rd choice  striker you could perhaps keep him around, but he shouldnt be ahead of giroud, snd he certainly shouldnt be starting league or champions league games. 

His main issue is his movement off the ball. There was a situation in the first half when I think it was Kovacic carried the ball forward, waiting for him to make a run but he didn't even get in the position to try. So Kova had to stop and wait for Pedro to catch up since Bats was simply unavailable.

We should've done anything to get Haaland in the winter window. He got more goals for BVB in his first 3 games than our whole team did in the last 5. But because he is a level above Tammy and it seems more important to pLAydAyOUf than to have decent attacking players we won't sign a top class striker any time soon.

We would never have got Haaland. If we thought we could have signed Haaland, we would have. It had nothing to do with Tammy. 

The best striker available for us in January was Ighalo. We decided to wait until the Summer and go all in on a player like Werner.

I know exactly the situation you mean. Infuriating. Movement has been a big problem for this team for years now.

I disagree. We are a top PL side and we are playing CL this season (and hopefully next season). Only reason why our chances for Haaland were bad is because we would've tried to make him a rotation player for Tammy. So instead we were looking for players like Cavani who are simply too old to be put in front of Tammy for a longer period of time.

If find it utterly ridiculous how many people were praising the board for Ziyech while we actually desperately needed players right now, not in 6 months. We got a transfer-ban reduction, but effectively decided we would go with the initial ruling and sit out the whole ban. Our front 3 lineup reflected exactly that with Bats not knowing where to move without the ball, Pedro doing stupid dribbles at our box and Willian being Willian (hit or miss).

So you wanted to sign a player with 3 months top level experience and bin Tammy to the bench? 

We didn't sign Haaland because he wants to develop into the worlds best and continue his development. Dortmund is the best club in the world for that. It's why he very clearly turned down a bigger contract from united. 

We didn't sign sh*t players because they weren't available. The board have been praised (not much) for not signing sh*t and signing only good players. Liverpool did the same thing and look at them now.

Yes. Because he is objectively better than Tammy and because he produces in big games. Put Tammy into rotation and give him a fair chance if Haaland has a dip in form. My priority is a title and a placement in the CL if we can't get a title. Not the youth, not having a legend as a coach and not playing in a certain system or a certain philosophy.

Haaland turned down United because they wouldn't bench Martial for him, same as we wouldn't bench Tammy. In Dortmund his only competition is Goetze, but Goetze tends to have physical issues and can play on multiple positions. Haaland would've been the perfect player for us, but we didn't even try. Other than that we could've tried Carasco. Or Dani Olmo. Even Paco Alcacer. Any player that gets us a few goals.

Instead, Ziyech was marketed like we bought someone to strengthen the squad, but we really didn't.

Our best youth player this season is James, by far. And even he has made some mistakes that cost us.

Ziyech has 100% strengthened the first team, not the squad. On the 1st September 2020 he will be our best wide player. 

United never said anything of the sort. You don't know what they would have done with martial. But if an 18 year old won't come to us because we won't sack off an academy player to the bench instantly, I'd rather he didn't come. But that isn't what Haaland did. He went to the club with the best record in Europe of turning top talent into world class talent and then selling them. He won't be playing for Dortmund in 3 years, everyone, haaland, Dortmund, know that. 

 

Why are we linked with Werner by the way? He's better than the three you named who aren't definitely improvements on Tammy. I think we were searching for a short term fix and waiting until the summer to get a world class talent.
