July 15, 201610 yr To be honest I wouldn't really want to play Matic and Kanté as a partnership. I don't think there is nearly enough consistency, creativity or versatility in passing, nor enough aggression in movement. In addition, playing the two of them would, in all likelihood, lead us to end up dropping one of Willian, Hazard or Fabregas, which I wouldn't really want to do. I think a Kanté-Fabregas partnership could work in theory, but I still wouldn't want Cesc in a midfield two against the top sides. Even if Kanté is the next Makélélé, it's worth bearing in mind that at his best, in the most attacking lineup in which he featured for us, Maka was still flanked at worst by Lampard (albeit with Gudjohnsen in front of them). I honestly think the ideal partner for Kanté would be someone like Xabi Alonso. I'm half hoping Real Madrid manage to get their mitts on Pogba so we can have a crack at signing Kroos or Modric. If our first XI doesn't feature both of them as starters, I can't imagine it's particularly worthwhile keeping Matic along as a spare, nor do I imagine him being happy to do so. I also think we could probably get fairly good money for him if Juventus do want him; we could even use him as a makeweight for Bonucci?

July 15, 201610 yr My brother (a Man U fan) said to me well it doesn't seem like others were really in for him. I said we're supposedly beaten two 'big' clubs and a CL club to his signature. He just rambled on saying yeah but why was no one else really in for him. Think he's just disappointed that it looks like we're getting him.
