there's no illegality in what they do per se... although they've been banned from recruiting young players recently ... it is more to do with the fact that the state of UAE might be financing City through various means and canals... Also UAE are extremely influent in football and also, although much less than in football, in international politics ... Utd may not want to risk going toe to toe with them! Nor anyone else !

Well if it's a case of nothing can be done to cap their spending, and that United are the only team that can hang on to their coat tails financially, then that doesn' bode well for us does it. I honestly don't know what the answer is for us to compete other than for City to be pegged back quite a bit.

For Roman to copy what they are doing? Though cities owners make him look poor in comparison so they could always out do us and everyone bar psg

After today it really would be a much bigger shock if City didn't win the title! Concerned about how far they could go in the Champions League too. I don't like to say it, but they are clearly the best team in the land right now, and one of the best in Europe.

While I don't want us to give up on the title defence till it is mathematical impossible, realistically we are in a race for top four now - we still have the ability to get that, as United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs all look like they will drop a fair few points as well this season, so as long as we give a better effort consistently from the first minute in games, we should really get a top four place I think. We should fight as best we can in the Champions League too, always a chance  with the nature of a knockout competition, but it will be a tall order looking at the other teams we are likely to be facing - but still worth a go, as that achievement would steal City's thunder!

Personally I hope we take the domestic cups seriously, since we are quite far advanced in the League Cup already, but particularly the FA Cup, it still hurts a bit losing the final last season to the gunners and missing out on the double, was a low note to finish on after a great season, so I hope we really give it a go again this season and try and win the FA Cup this season, last time was 2012 so been a few years.

Considering some of the problems we have had with the team this season, and how strong City are looking, if we get top 4, the FA Cup and perhaps the League Cup too, I would consider that a reasonably good season.

That's the main issue for us. Even Roman can't compete! Where does that leave us? We'll end up as the new Arsenal, fight to secure a champions league spot and celebrating the fourth place trophy!

Lukaku has played the full 90 in every match this season bar the Carabao Cup games, hilarious how he off all people has become Jose's new Ivanovic :laugh2:

man city need to have  about    2 draws 4 losses and 16 wins to beat our record. Seems  very doable

If city win the league and champions league this season, how long before Pep can be regarded as the best coach of all time?

to have won the league 3x in spain with barcelona and 2 champions leagues, then 3 bundesliga titles, and then if he guides city to a league and champions league double this season, i think we have to consider him the best. not just for what he would have won, but also for the tactics implemented and fundamentally changing the face of football in every country he's been, especially in spain and england more so.

people may think i am mad for thinking this

Not until he leads a side that wins a 2nd Division Title, gets promoted to the First Divison & wins that Title the following season. The same Coach that led Greece to win a European Championship. Some people says he lives on Mount Olympus - All Hail King Otto Rehhagel

He will need to dominate the league like Ferguson did, get 2 or 3 league titles for City and a CL. At that point he will be the best of all time in my opinion.

The guardian, the Telegraph and sky are reporting a mass brawl In the tunnels at Old trafford.

Lukaku threw a bottle and made arteta bleed apparently - someone should tell the useless c**t he needs to find the back of the net not the players face.

At least lukaku hit the target last night, even if it wasn't the net lol
