Callum Hudson-Odoi

Featured Replies

As Scott said above, not official until announced by Chelsea FC  i.e. on their official site, also if Sky sports broadcast that pigs were now flying above the UK a lot of you mugs would adam & eve it......

Once it is announced I shall be overjoyed  with chuffed-ness !!

As brilliant as he is, even Messi's wages are ridiculous and obscene. But this is how top level football is so no point moaning about it.                                                                     If Callum starts tearing it up, nobody will give a toss how much he's being paid.

Glad it's done, just hope he gets the game time and lives up to the promise.  I think he's a good player, and I've voiced on here my concerns about the hype he has been getting as most of our Academy players tend to receive.  I think he has the makings of a very good player, but it's all up to him to get the  chances now, and I think the timing couldn't be better.  Him and Pulisic will add something we've been missing lately, and that's direct play.

Last year, the pressure was on Sarri to play him.

Now, the pressure is on CHO to perform.  I hope he doesn't play trying to justify his contract, and works on developing himself and improving, being open to the coaching he's being given.

He doesn't need to be Hazard.  He just needs to be Hudson-Odoi.

I suspect the staff now will give him a bit more freedom than Sarri gave him, and I think this staff will provide the environment for him to grow and improve.

And I hope the supporters will be patient with him.  He's going to make mistakes.

Not sure why so many people seem disturbed by the salary. It's not as if we are all being asked to sell our daughters to Adam Johnson to raise the money to pay his wages. Footballer in crazy salary shocker. In other news Irish people have jumped on a bandwagon, scousers have found a hard done by angle to create a petition over and men who wear polo shirts with the top button undone have the mental age of a 12 year old.

You forgot our English management team.

I haven't forgot our English management team, safe to say I'm a very proud English man this season with Chelsea football club ?, I really think as an English club we should have an English heart.

Very exciting times.

He posted a pic of him in a Chelsea shirt a couple of hours ago on Instagram.

That would be an incredibly weird thing to do if it wasn't essentially done. He doesn't post that many pics, so it is a statement.

Also the BBC very very rarely publish a story if it isn't true.

Celebrate away.

Hudson-Odoi close to new Blues deal

Reports from several media organisations including the Guardian, the BBC and Sky Sports indicate Callum Hudson-Odoi is very close to agreeing a new long-term contract with Chelsea.

The 18-year-old made a huge impact with the Blues last season when he scored five goals in 24 appearances before he suffered a ruptured Achilles in late April which required surgery and caused him to miss the Europa League final victory against Arsenal.

The young winger’s form attracted interest from German giants Bayern Munich who reportedly made multiple bids to sign him, but he now appears to have followed fellow Academy products Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount in committing his future to Stamford Bridge.

‘Negotiations have continued over the past six months, with the crucial breakthrough and verbal agreement between Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia and Hudson-Odoi representatives reached in the last 48 hours,’ Sky Sports reported.

‘However, several aspects of the deal are not yet agreed, including which shirt number he will wear, and whether the deal is for four or five years.’

I still cannot, for the life of me, understand why the club do this Media Watch thing.  It's utterly embarrassing for them to be essentially legitimizing media gossip.

They want the app to be used and the site visited. I think it is smart. The sh*t it in the internet anyway so why not offer it in the app as short version. I don't see a problem there.

We have no idea wheter they have lasted that long. No idea.

I was pretty sure we secure the contract. It is common sense he stays here.

It's Sky Sports saying it, not the Sunday Sport soft porn rag.

Just how in the blue hell can contract talks for one 18 year old last 6 months?????

Probably because for about 4 of them he had no intention of staying and then there's a lot of variables to sort out, and that's before we mention the inexperience of the team representing him.

Ah.  So that's how we can afford to pay an 18 year old £100k a week...……...

I've said before, but for a club like Chelsea, £100k per week is peanuts.

£445M in gross revenue last year

A key member of your First XI, a player you're pinning your future on, making just above 1% of that?

Would cost 3, times that to try and buy a replacement in the summer. At least. A gamble well worth taking. Three years into that deal, I hope we sign him to a new 5 year deal worth double that.

But that Media Watch money probably doesn't even by enough for toner cartridges at Cobham, so it's silly.
