You cant take chances with clubs the size of Chelsea......Giroud can give us goals , he's shown that. Its great when a youngster breaks through, but we cant afford to gamble on one  of them when playing the likes of Barcelona .

looking at some of the post there are quite differing views but as someone mentioned he plays for France with some pretty quick players as 1st choice! quite surprise that only 1 person has mentioned give youth a chance! especially since that 'youth' has started to play for England seniors!

Number of goals he is hoping to score before the end of the season 

Giroud is a good backup striker. He knows how to play I. This league and has a good goals ratio.

People who would rather have bats have to realise that Conte dosnt rate him. So what's the point in keeping him if he won't use him. I think loaning bats out at his age to a top team in germany is a good idea. that way if Conte goes or dosnt renew his contract. Then in we will have a player who will have grown and importantly played regularly. And a new manager can use him if he rates him.

I like bats as a goal scorer. But Conte wants more link up play which we all know he needs to work on. 

So giroud for a quick fix and a player Conte will play and a chance for bats to develope I think is a good deal.

Giroud is sh*t, a player who comes from a team of serial bottlers, a player who has underperformed at every important stage of every competition. This is a black day for Chelsea football club. We would have been 100 times better off throwing Solanke, Boga, Musonda and co into the team and letting them sink or swim.

No. I think he needed to be registered by midday, but not sure if today or yesterday.

Always liked him. He is the typical striker - strong, with a lot of deflections in his game, not that fast but with clinical finishing. He could be very usefull for a short term.

Yes. 

I’m very pleased by this deal. Strengthens us in the short term and weakens a rival. If bats does well in Germany then we have more options.

According to Thierry Henry he really did not want to join us. Wanted more chance of minutes ahead of the world cup.

He is pointing the finger at the staying in London part again. Be interesting to see our reaction to him. Won't get to see the arsenal fan reaction until next season.
