Much better options than a 31 year old who's too set in his ways to adapt to Sarri's high tempo, high energy football. I'd go for Raul Jimenez who's on loan at Wolves from Benfica. Very good movement and energy plus an eye for a goal.

Higuain is a goalscorer, if we finish in the top four / win the EL Cup due to his potential goals then it's business well done. We cannot afford to miss out on the CL again.

Tammy needs to stay at Villa. If he comes back and he doesn't score goals it will wreck him, the pressure would be too much.

I don’t have a problem with loaning him for the rest of the season, and sort out a long term option in the summer. Buying him at this point will be ridiculous when his parent club don’t want him back.

His parent club don't want him back due to Ronaldo, that's it. The guy has scored a load of goals and yes I would prefer a loan option, but if he was £40 million and he helped get us back to the CL then it's a wise investment.

The guy has how many seasons left in his legs at a world class level (which he debatably isn't actually even at presently), two? Two and a half? 

Throwing money at him in order to qualify for the CL is a very expensive form of standing still. It's the furthest thing from a wise investment as he'd have sod all resale value. We've surely learned our lessons from Sheva + Torres, because getting him would be a move in the same mould. Ditto Cavani, or any other fanciful ageing name the press want to dredge up. 

Not qualifying for the CL for the second time in a row could have huge implocations. If the board was told tjat they could pay 40 million today and be a shoe in for CL next season, they would trip over themselves to make the transaction. If Higuain can help us qualify for the CL maybe even win the EL that will be money truly well spent, then next sesson we can get our striker for the future

And what if he needs the proverbial “settling period”? Signing him doesn’t guarantee CL, and we have been down this road before with ageing forwards. Sure loan him with an option to buy, but under no circumstance should we be paying upfront for a player his parent club want off the books.

Rumours breaking at the moment that Higuain has agreed to move to Chelsea. 

Wording is a bit funny at the minute so might be that Higuain has agreed to the move but we've still got to come to an agreement with Juventus/AC Milan. 

Some places saying it could be completed today... but that's rarely the case. 

Frustrating to lose Fabregas because we don't offer more than a year extension to current players over 30 and then we look set to sign a player who is 31...

We offered Cesc a 2 year deal but he wanted more football.

Sarri said the Spaniard, whose Chelsea deal expires at the end of this season, has received a two-year contract offer.

"In my opinion, he needs to go," said Sarri.

"In this club there is a rule - the renewal for players over 30 is usually one year. I don't want a very important player like Cesc to be unhappy."

I interpreted that as Sarri saying Cesc has received a 2 year offer from another club (Monanco) so we're not standing in his way because we can't what's on offer. 

I read something that he was going to come to us on loan, Morata has also been linked with AC. So wouldnt be surprised if its all linked in some way.

Could be I just assumed it was us.

I wouldn't be paying any large fee for a player over 30 especially a striker who's on decline like Higuaín.

A loan option would be best like Falcao.

Would be realistic in that Morata needs to rejuvenate his career and a place he has been successful before would be his best bet.

A swap loan would be favourable for both and reassess in the Summer.

and it was actually 3.5 years from Monaco, and definitely more time on the pitch.

If we get Higuain in on loan, and he bags around 15 goals, with us finishing 4th or 3rd then that’s top business by Chelsea.

If we sign him for a decent fee, say 20m then he’d make a very good second choice striker from next season.

Even 10 goals in half a season would be a big improvement on what we have.
