July 4, 20188 yr If Sarri is coming i'm all for it. Had his best ever season under him and was unplayable. Also means i have to watch less of Morata which is a nice bonus.
July 4, 20188 yr I really cant see us spending this big on a 31 year old striker, especially with giroud also on the books. Logistically would we really offer him a 3 year contract? If it's only 2 years, that is a huge ffp commitment, over £30m per season. Not far off what United have committed to Sanchez. I can't see any truth in this.

Also means i have to watch less of Morata which is a nice bonus. Still... He was some years younger, not to mention some kilograms lighter. Wanting to see less of A.M. is a bit harsh. He didn't perform after december, and was injured for a period as well. He did look pretty homesick at times, and with a baby on the way I'd say it's understandable. He didn't look sharp nor happy. However, he looks set to get back with the squad and start fresh, and I'd take a happy - and on form - Morata over a 30+ y/o Higuain any day of the week. 7 hours ago, axman2526 said: Imagine it would be a straight swap for morata. Still a poor deal though. Exactly my point. And why get Higuain - which will push Batsman and Giroud further behind as the options? You'd assume that IF the club decides to go for him, it'll be to make him a starter. With Morata, Bats and Giroud you have three brilliant strikers with different attributes. Don't see a need for Higuain.
July 5, 20188 yr Nicolas Higuain (brother & agent): "At the moment we haven’t spoken to any other clubs. Gonzalo is very happy in the city and at Juventus. Everyone knows Gonzalo's relationship with Sarri is wonderful and he sees him as a football father, but as far as I know, Sarri hasn’t even signed for Chelsea yet. We are not in talks with Chelsea. He wants to respect his contract with Juventus, would be great to see Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo playing together again". #CFC Juventus" So yeah, sounds like nothing is happening until if/when Sarri is appointed.
July 5, 20188 yr Right now Morata, Giroud and Bats can't even dream about delivering between 25-30. Even two of them combined. And that's the amount we need. So if Sarri is confident Higuain will get it to this number, why not? there has always been complains and reservations about any forward. But at the end of the day, what really matter are the goals. And he has proven himself. I'm tired of this old, troublemaking behavior, diving or bad looking BS. Always finding the flaws, don't ya? Edited July 5, 20188 yr by Giordano_Bruno

I don't want him because he's a bottler (even with the goals he has, he bottles the big moments) he's always looking unfit, he is knackered after a sprint. Is this the type of player we want? the guy would be finished by half time playing in the Premier League. Serie A is nowhere near as demanding on players fitness levels as the Premier League is. We can't afford Higuain to come back unfit after a summer break again, something he has done throughout many seasons of his career. Players like Higuain tend to drop off in their early 30's because they don't look after themselves, and maybe now that is what we are seeing, it's not like he had a brilliant season last season. He got 23 goals, the season before he got 32, and the season before that he got 39, maybe the decline has already started. I'm not a fan, and if we sign him, it will be a backwards step in my opinion. I would rather stick to what we already have.
July 5, 20188 yr There may be good reasons to say he is not right for Chelsea yet given Morata in front of goal then 'bottling' is not one of them. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=gonzalo+higuain+goals
July 5, 20188 yr If Cristiano goes to Juve, it probably increases the chances of an attacking player leaving them, in which case this rumor will most likely continue to heat up.
July 5, 20188 yr Personally, what I don't like about him is how much weight he can gain in the off season. I'd expect the bare minimum of our players to turn up fit for the season. After Costa and Hazard, I don't want to see another Chelsea player turn up to preseason overweight. Same goes with Luke Shaw (if we're ever in for him again) I don't ask them to be C. Ronaldo but at least don't turn up fat or pudgy. Edited July 5, 20188 yr by Deino
July 8, 20188 yr I am always dubious when a player hits his 30’s with no premier league experience signs for big money as our league is all about pace. Once you give him a year to settle in he will be 31 with a low resale value and a big wage. Not money good forward ms around at the moment. I must admit I was very hopeful with Morata and still think he could come good but his head just doesn’t seem in it at Chelsea. I bet he goes somewhere and gets a she’s load of goals
July 12, 20188 yr Rumours back that close to agreeing a €60m deal to sign Higuain. Stronger, more persistent links to him than any other strikers at the moment.
July 12, 20188 yr Really don't want higuian. Liverpool are getting linked with dybala for €90m, I doubt it has any substance, but if he was available for anywhere near that price, we should be all over it. Gazuuuummppp. Kante Jorginho Golovin Dybala Morata Hazard
July 12, 20188 yr Sounds like a major disaster in the making, most of us could handle a season and misfiring by Morata ( his firs and injury interrupted), but most won't cope with a proven misfiring striker in big games. His record is deceiving at best, and I just don't see he's hungry enough to come to play in England and leave all the comfort of Juventus behind. Sure he may score a couple against Fulham, but bet lots of money he will miss those big chances in a semi final or a game at OT.
July 12, 20188 yr I really hope not, he is on the decline and has always looked chunky to me since moving to Juventus. Maybe a few years back in his Madrid days but not now, not for that money.
July 12, 20188 yr Would be a shock if we were to go for him as it doesn’t seem like our usual signing of 22-25 year old players for cheapish fees. Maybe the club have learned their lesson from Conte and are trying to keep Sarri happy? Edited July 12, 20188 yr by JM7

Sure he may score a couple against Fulham, but bet lots of money he will miss those big chances in a semi final or a game at OT.This year he scored against napoli away, inter away, and Milan besides Atalanta in semis of cup and against spurs and olympiakos all games that were critical to win the league and go thru the cups. Last year he won the cl semis for us vs Monaco and scored in all the big games of the league including Roma and napoli. It's true that with national team he has not been great in the finals, but messi wasn't either in those games.I read a lot of very critical comments of higuain, but I would like to know which forward you consider better than him? There are not many and technically he is one of the best of not the best.I actually hope he will stay even though I am afraid he will be sold to recoup some money and because of Ronaldo.
July 12, 20188 yr Crespo, Kezman, Falcao, Torres, Shevchenko, Mutu, Morata..... and now Higuain Just the type of strikers we like here
