After i read Munkworth's comment, i did exactly that  

when I hear about Higuain, I remember how he has helped to destroy Messi's Legacy. Most people will remember Higuain in this way

I loved crespo. The Wigan goal was definately his highlight, he also scored a screamer against arsenal. 

I would actually rate crespo as our second best striker in terms of ability in the roman era.

It's good to see that he still has fond memories of here, despite it probably reminding him of one of the darkest times in his life.

Creep gave 100% in every game he played for us and was excellent in most of those games. He shouldn't be anywhere near that list.

daft to get rid of Morata after one season IMO.  If this is true and it does happen I think we will regret it in the long run.  

The price-tag of Higuain is € 55/60 million and he wants a 5-year deal worth €7.5m/year, the same salary he has at #Juventus. 

Talks between all parties are ongoing and for now there is a gap of €10m between Juventus’ request & Chelsea’s offer for Higuain (calciomercato) #CFC

I don't have a problem with this assuming the finances match up. 

Morata had a tough year professionally and personally but I've got question marks about his mentality, which as a we saw with Torres is a killer for a striker.

Higuain isn't a long term prospect but he gets us back into the CL.

5 years? Yikes. From giving 30+ players 1 year extensions to 5 

We don't offer player in the 30s 5 year contract, it's very unlikely we will do that for Huaguin regardless how much Sarri rates him. Juventus don't need another player in return, they want quick cash. Supposedly they get Morata in return, that's a player who's going to be on120-150k a year who won't get regular football because Ronado will pick himself every game.

If the gap is around €10m that would mean we are offering about €45m. Still too expensive imo. 

There is also no chance we would be prepared to offer a 5 year contract to a 30 year old, so that is where that report loses serious credit.

Why are we wasting our time and money going for this guy. He is 30 years old ffs and not that good anymore. 

Morata needs one more season. 

Crespo is on the list of best strikers we have ever had. Certainly the best I have ever seen pull on a blue shirt .. absolutely outstanding movement and finishing. Makes Drogba look like Luther Blissett (and I loved Drogba ! :-) )

He's a good striker, but big game bottler, Icardi or Immobile would be much better for us

Not fast enough, not good enough and certainly will not guarantee enough goals to secure a CL place this season. I hope these rumours are just that, rumours. At least with Morata we know we've got a young player that can become a great striker if he overcomes his mentality issues. If not, we can still get some money for him next season unlike with Higuaín.

The club did well to bring Jorginho here, but if they go and get this guy for such a high fee and end up ditching Morata (most expensive signing for the club) then the people making the decision's at this club will go back in my bad books instantly. 

This move makes no sense. He's almost 31, he's come back unfit at the start of the season on more than one occasion, he's showing signs of not being the same player he used to be (maybe if he stopped putting on the weight every so often, this wouldn't be a problem) he bottles the big moments. He is now at the stage in his career where his legs could go at any moment, by the time he adapts to league, that may well happen. 

I can't believe a 30 year old player who isn't quite as good as he was a season or two ago is the best we can do. I really wish this was nonsense but it's a story that refuses to go away. I would easily prefer us to stick with Morata and Batshuayi than go for Higuain.

Carries too much weight and is far too slow for the EPL.

Well you know what i think about Morata, but even i agree. Just hope we don't have either and get Michy back for now, him Giroud and Tammy. I'm not convinced Tammy will cut it, but the other two will score goals. We need to sort out the attack behind the striker if Willian and Hazard are going. That's going to be expensive.
