They don't really need another central midfielder tbh. Casemiro Kroos and Modric can still do the bits. Probably someone to be Modric's understudy maybe but even then they'd be stacked.

Modric is 34 going into the new season, I think they'll need someone to share the playing time personally.

Casemiro and Kroos have never been the most mobile and Modric will be 34, personally think they should be looking for someone there.

Christian Eriksen has hinted he might be leaving Spurs this summer.

Huge loss for them if true but there's only so long you can expect to hold onto your best players when you're not winning anything.

Maradona doing anything he can to stay in the headlines:

Quote

And speaking to FFT, Maradona revealed the heights of his managerial ambitions: “If Manchester [United] need a coach, I’m the man to do it,” he said.

“I know they sell lots of shirts around the world, but they need to win trophies, too. I can do that for them.”

Some decisions that go to the video assistant referee are to be shown on big screens in Premier League grounds.

Graphics will explain any VAR-related delay to a match, and any overturned decision, from next season.

Any video clip which helps explain an overturned decision will be broadcast, and they could potentially be viewed via an app on mobile phones.

Messages on scoreboards and PA announcements will be made at grounds which do not have giant screens.

VAR checks will be for "clear and obvious errors" relating to four match-changing situations: goals, mistaken identity, red cards and incidents in the penalty area.

It debuts in the Premier League next season, having been used at the 2018 World Cup, in this season's Champions League knockout stages and in selected FA Cup and Carabao Cup ties.

For clubs that do not have giant screens in their stadium, VAR communications will be made via a combination of PA announcements and messages on scoreboards.

"If the VAR believes there is a definitive video clip which helps explain an overturned decision to fans, it will be broadcast on giant screens," the Premier League said in a statement

The Premier League says it is also looking at ways for supporters to view the clips on handheld devices via an app.

Meanwhile, the Premier League and seven leading Spanish sides have reiterated their opposition to the proposal to a radical restructure of European club football.

Championed by Juventus president Andrea Agnelli, the idea is to replace Uefa's current club competitions with a three-tier structure that incorporates promotion and relegation - a move that would limit the number of Champions League slots available to new entrants via domestic competition.

This would also involve increasing the number of games that Champions League teams play against each other by moving to four groups of eight - which many domestic leagues believe could only be achieved by playing European games at weekends.

Esperance have been ordered to return the African Champions League trophy and to replay the second leg of the final.

The Tunisian side led in Saturday's second leg but Moroccan opponents Wydad Casablanca left the pitch after an equaliser they scored was disallowed.

Wydad wanted the video assistant referee to check if the goal should stand but the system was not working.

The Confederation of African Football (Caf) said the second leg will be replayed at a neutral venue.

The 1-1 draw from the first leg stands.

The replay will be after the Africa Cup of Nations, which ends on 19 July.

Caf said Esperance players must return their winners' medals as well as the trophy.

Will this set a precedent?

Here is something to make you all laugh. My colleague at work is a massive Sp*d.... He tells me Spurs have had a better season than Chelsea because of the stadium completion and getting to the CL final......

Who is this clown. We won a Major European trophy and for good measure we finished above them in the league. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.....

Made me chuckle though.

Whilst i do agree, i am not surprised, he's probably heard our lot booing and thought we were all unhappy with our season, forgetting the whole point of it all in the process.

Well, we all know that Tottenham fans don't measure success in terms of winning trophies. If they did, Tottenham wouldn't have a fanbase!

They might have a point if this seasons heralds a change in their fortunes yet how many times recently have they been close to winning something and fallen at the last hurdle.

Currently Poch is the Nearly Man..............

I don’t know how he can say that, they basically threw away 3rd and almost 4th because they were terrible at the back end of the season. They ended up finishing behind us and we won a European trophy while they lost their chance at one. I’d rather have had our end to the season than theirs.

I don't know how he could say it either. I nearly choked on the Europa League Trophy when he said it.

Oh dear, life deals you a terrible card as a Spurs supporter, doesn't it.

Make or break time for Ole. I hope Pogba stays and he sulks for an entire season.

Slightly misleading I think.

I'm assuming it's £100m to supplement player sales, which doesn't seem stingy to me. I can't see Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal spending much more than that themselves.

Rumours that Lukaku is likely to join Conte at Inter Milan this summer which is going to bank them another £60-75m.

It's just your typically close season column filler article because there isn't much else to write about right now.

Rarely listen to Talksh*t anymore but they were talking about this this morning. Sounds like supplementary £100m. Quoted prices for Lukaku going as £75m and if Pogba goes, (and I hope he doesn’t) £150m. Now who in their right mind would give that sort of money for him, would be luckily to get back what they paid IMO. To me Progba is the most overrated player in the planet. Sure he has some nice moments and even a small run of games but Progba is all about Progba and the image and not the good of the team.  His beautiful pass or touch is often followed an inept touch or pass or just sheer laziness and not getting back and marking and doing to hard dirty work that makes great midfielders great.

One of the most unrecognised things about our own great SFL was that he just wasn’t all about goals from midfield but his chasing back, covering, blocking and doing the dirty hard miles.
