Golovin is just a better player, simple. We will find out through the season I guess.

From the couple of games you watched of him at the world cup or are you an avid CSKA watcher?

Golovin (22) 113 games 13 goals / cont. every 0.12 games

Barkley (24) 200 games 31 goals / cont. every 0.16 games

Don't see how you could possibly say Golovin is better than Barkley and that it is simple to see.

Are you talking about barkely from years ago or this one? Cuz I bet if you offer this injury prone barkley who have done nothing for so long to golovin, they would more than likely go for the latter.

I'm talking about both of their careers as a whole. This injury prone Barkley looked the fittest on our entire team this pre season thus far.

All gone very quiet, I suspect he'll go elsewhere now, or it would have been done.

I just assumed he was on his holiday following a long World Cup and the deal would be done once he returned for pre-season.

Of course he might be fitter, he has done nothing for so long. I wish for him to come good, of course I do, but I still take golovin as Things are atm.

Once again we are doing piss all in the transfer window. Signed one player who will need to be rested and rotated during the season with no back ups. Hope Golovin is successful at Monaco. Has potential. 2 weeks left not expecting much, maybe 1 new signing and that a defender when other positions need attention.

Why? We really do not need him. Barkley and RLC are already in our squad, likely fighting for the same spot. Would much rather we go all out on Bailey.

Who says we are even pursuing Bailey?

Same media who told us we're pursuing Golovin.

It was his teammate who said he would be coming to us, nothing like the Bailey to us story the Sun....yes the Sun went with today

Talented player and I thought it was near done, but so be it, if this means RLC stays, I’m fine. I wish we’d target a proper winger/striker, maybe a full back.

Not too bothered to miss out on Golovin.

However, there is 2 weeks left in the transfer market, and yet again it is looking very last minute.

We act so slowly in the market these days it's frightening.

I know transfers are complicated, but other teams seem capable of getting transfers done swiftly.

With RLC, Barkley and mount (next year) we are set. Baka backs up Kante and cesc backs up Jorginho.

We have plenty in Golovin’s position so actually very glad this one didn’t happen. We need more English players.

Sell drinkwater though as he doesn’t really fit unless Baka goes.

This is the thing, we already have a set of central midfielders. I don't see exactly what Golovin would have brought. It's sounding like RLC will be brought back to the squad, we have Barkley too, and also Drinkwater, depending on what happens with him. We will only be playing with 3 in midfield and Sarri likely won't change the first team midfield that often unless necessary, so we can't play everyone. We may or may not be looking at another central midfielder, maybe a better one than Golovin, who knows. However, it's not really a position that needs much focus.

Seems like we could have used Golovin. RLC needs another loan as it's unfair to make a player of his potential sit on the bench most weeks, then we don't have any attacking box-to-box player to compete with Barkley.

If we are keeping Ruben then we would have too many in midfield. We do already imo.

Jorginho or Cesc

Kante or baka or ampadu

Barkely or rlc or drinkwater

Or maybe ampadu is seen as a CB. That is fine. Still one too many and makes cb even more stacked:

Cahill, Luiz, ampadu , Rudiger, christensen and possibly another one from juve 6 for 2 positions?!
