@Slojo I try to wrap it up to get the topic back on track and you give us an essay totally disregarding my post. I think that’s a bit rude. Also, your post is very wrong.

I don't see how my post is rude tbh, besides keeping it off topic.

That's just my opinion, and I don't think what I said was wrong.

However, I will finish off with this, TalkChelsea was one of the most active forums about 5 years ago, now it's absolutely dead because the Mods started banning just about anyone, even for just one insult or snappy comment you were banned. They blame it on the rise of social media that they no longer get any activity but that hasn't happened here, this has been a busy forum for years, I only just recently made an account here but I've always looked on this forum for years.

I would say it was the opposite, around about a few years ago numerous trolls like Bushman and a guy called Blue Mourinho King were allowed free reign of the site and it it lead to numerous key contributors leaving, one had to go as far as totally blowing his cover by lashing out and calling us "rentboys" before he was finally disposed off. This place is ruthless with bans by comparison.

I've said it plenty times, but this season is arguably the most competitive we've seen in many years too. If decisions had gone our way in previous games we would probably be sitting in 3rd right now too.

Someone put a picture up on Instagram as part of that 10 year challenge. In 2009 47 points would have made us top.

The pace of the top 6 this year is just unreal. Sarri is the best manager we’ve had at the club in years and I really hope they don’t f**k it up!

If anyone listens to the totally football show podcast, listen to Michael Cox assess how Sarri’s doubters are being unreasonable on Monday’s podcast. The guy had 3 weeks to get his point across before the season started and we practically don’t have a striker. He needs time and we will come good.

I cant wait for us to be going at it in the later rounds of the CL again.

Enough with the discussion on bans, back to Sarri, please.

I think he needs more modern looking specs.

He also needs to hit the gym and get some curls in. His arms are way too skinny for a man of his size, which makes him look ridiculous when he wears a t-shirt, imo.

I fear that's more an age thing (saggy skin) than a muscle thing. Those elegant Italians go downhill, too! Though not Carlo, obviously.

Ah well, then he should wear long sleeves. How are we expected to land world-class talent such as Callum Wilson with a manager who looks like he'd struggle to lift anything heavier than a cigarette end?

Oh god, you're right! Suddenly everything makes sense. It is a major worry.

He can lift his coffee can’t he? Or does he drink it through a straw?

He has it injected intravenously...

I actually love the fact he doesn’t give a monkeys about his image. ( We’ve had a couple of borderline poseur managers so makes a nice change) Reckon he wears that tracksuit all day every day. Most likely moved from banking to football purely because  he hates wearing ties.

We are running out of managers.

Throw in Simeone.

Maybe the team is just bad and not the managers. At this point it has to be the case.

His stubbornness is starting to go against him.

Picking the same XI regardless of form isn’t working.

False 9 isn’t working.

The like for like subs aren’t working.

When Ancelotti cane to Chelsea he tried playing with a diamond midfield like he did at Milan, our performances weren’t good so he changed it and won the league.

Conte started with a back four, changed to a three and won the league.

Sarri’s 4-3-3 isn’t working at the moment... can he change it?

Sarri completely out-coached today by Emery.

Hope this proves to be the turning point when even he realises that it ain't working and it's time to try something different.

I believe this is the case. Sarri’s only criticism from me is Alonso being picked over Emerson. unfortunately our players aren't "getting it" tactically. On top of that we have no focal point up top. We go up against teams and their defence thinks "oh Giroud/Hazard/Morata" they won't score or even pose a threat.

It makes it twice as easy for opposition defenders when they know we lack any kind of goal threat, that we lack a striker who given one chance will score (like Lacazette today for e.g) it's already handicapped Sarri this season having no goal threat. Willian and Pedro can be inconsistent too so there's little threat there, except for maybe Pedro on occasion.

Azpi and Alonso aren't good enough to be fullbacks in this system. Azpi at least does overlap. Alonso runs infield so our LW has no passing options. Again, playing Alonso is Sarri’s fault. However, I'm also starting to think the board have more influence than we think. Alonso only signed a new contract in the summer. Any coincidence he keeps playing? I think not.

We have a number of players who simply aren't good enough and no manager would do any better without time. Even more so without a clinical striker.

Sarri was totally unarmed today against Arsenal. He should have made changes that would have given sonething new to the game. CHO wasn't good today but should have been given much more Time: why leave the changes so late?
