Has there been any rumors about Jorgi leaving this summer? I know there has been the continuous link with Juve bc of Sarri but I don't recall hearing anything really credible. It's pretty odd that he hasn't featured at all since the restart. Maybe it says more about Gilmour and where Lampard sees him and less about Jorgi "falling out of grace." The next month will be telling for sure.

Yes there had been rumors but Jorginho's agent has stated that ever since Sarri left Chelsea Jorginho haven't spoken to him so they haven't been in touch for a year now. Juventus just recently completed the signing of Arthur from Barcelona for 65m + Pjanic. Gilmour is the next Jorginho for us he just needs more time, being a 19 year old in the Premier League isn't the same as being 19 in La Liga.

There was talk with Juventus last week but they've signed Arthur so... That's probably out the window.

It really isn’t as Sarri wants to get rid of Rabiot & Khedira. Wouldn’t be surprised if he leaves on a Morata type deal, or a dodgy type Barca/Juve swap where they sell us Sandro for £25m & we sell them Jorginho for £85m

If we were to sign Ndidi instead of Chilwell from Leicester i'd be happy to see Jorginho sold, if we go into next season with only Kante/Gilmour as the holding midfielder I fear we'll lack physicality - Leicester was a sneak preview for how bad it could get.

Frankie is happy with the way we are playing at the moment, 5 games won without Jorginho and we are huge favorites against West Ham so Frank proved that we don't need Jorginho.

“With N’Golo I have a way I want us to work in midfield to have some fluidity to us, which allows N’Golo to bring his best attributes to the game. N’Golo’s attributes and his absolute quality mean he can play in any position you want him to...He is an incredible player and is huge for this club, and he will be going forward for a long time. I’m happy with him.”

“It’s not just about N’Golo, it’s about the other players in the squad. We have a lot of competition in midfield, and at the moment N’Golo is doing a really good job for us there.”

As it stands, Billy Gilmour and Kante have taken over Jorginho's role in the squad.

Jorginho has played 91 games in 2 season for us and he might not reach 100 from how it looks like. I'm still grateful for everything that Jorghy has done ever since he first came in he never stopped fighting for Chelsea.

If we are seriously considering selling Jorginho and playing Kante in the middle from now on I'll have serious worries and doubts. The Kante situation is the one that hasn't sat well with me when it comes to Frank, everything else I can see why, I can see what he's trying to do, but when it comes to Kante it just doesn't click in my head.

Had a good game against Villa, but even then he wasn't making the midfield any better offensively, we were struggling to break them down until Pulisic/Barkley came on. Very bad game against City imo despite the win, and same again against Leicester, I wasn't impressed with what I saw from him. Does anyone think we look a lot better with Kante in the middle? Look past the results for just a second and you'll see that they're papering over the cracks, we aren't much better defensively at all. I'll be gutted if we offload Jorginho, I think he's an excellent player who is unfairly scapegoated a lot of the time.

I fully believe in Frank still, he's doing an excellent job. But I can't help but get worried when he has so much praise for Kante after a bad game, I don't know if that's his way of keeping him motivated or what, I like to think it is and not look too much into it.

I've made peace with it now, just got to pray he's spotted something Sarri, Zola and Conte all missed.

I wish I could, I just feel that it's the one piece he keeps getting wrong time and time again. And what's weird is, on Twitter everyone appears to agree with me, and Twitter is terrible for football opinions, so that also doesn't sit well with me.

But there's quite a divide with Chelsea fans on there with Jorginho and Kante.

The only thing i can sort off rationalize is as i said on the Ziyech thread the sitting DM two 8's plus Kova rotating infront is preparation for Hakim's arrival with Ross currently being Ziyech, so to speak.

Other than that i'm stumped.

I really is a strange one, kante hasn't been a shadow of his old self, and jorginho hasn't got any minutes yet,I feel Frank's obsession for the rest of this season at least with kante and not using Jorge is weird

I'm glad Jorginho isn't playing anymore, you can tell he was responsible for all of our defensive woes that definitely aren't still happening right now...

He was to blame for all three goals by not being on the pitch to do anything about them! Bloody useless this bloke.

He was nowhere to be seen again! He has to take fault for those 3 goals!

These statements from Lampard are quite bizarre ... maybe he's hoping if he says it enough times, then Kante will actually one day prove him right ...

Well it's sad for me personally but it doesn't change the fact that Jorginho has made a huge impact on this team, he was the biggest factor to why we could transform into an attacking and ball playing team, without him Sarri would never get top 3 last season. Stats do show that Jorghy has been our best passer and best defensive player of all our midfielders this season, but if Lampard doesn't play him those things don't matter.

Most fans don't like him and don't miss him, a few months back prior to the pandemic I was the only one here defending Jorginho from constant attacks and most people here want him to leave the club. Nevertheless I will always know that he was a good player for us and that top managers saw him as a top player as well.

its really strange that he has not played a minute since the restart. Any reports I've seen frank spoke well about him and his influence on the younger players. I'd be shocked if we have agreed a deal for him because i cant see where he goes especially if Juve the only club linked has just signed Arthur.

Maybe Marina is trying to swap him for Laporte LOL .. City were interested before we signed him if I recall correctly !

lol I'd be happy with him or VVD in a swap deal.

Considering Kante was no where near the 3 goals we conceded, got to say it's pointless to play him. Jorginho would have done better in ball retention and pick out those passes in the final third, so even I'd say it was a mistake not to play him. It's a really odd situation, if he sits on the bench for another game, I'd say a deal has been agreed and we just waiting to ship him out.

He has to play simply cause he allows us greater ball retention. Not suggesting he would have prevented us from conceding but he would have at the very least taken off some pressure from our defence.

I wonder if we have agreed to sell him and so Lamps is not using him as he may feel his focus is elsewhere.

Otherwise is odd for freshness sake he has yet to make at least 1 appearance.
