Had the armband at some point, what an amazing influence he has been, since day 1. Gilmour with Jorginho can become an amazing leader in the future!

Well he is the vice captain...

He'd be world class if he could run, more aggression in defense but his lack of mobility is similar to what let Cesc down towards the end of his time here.

A lot better defensively than Cesc though. I still remember Cesc in that Roma game where we lost 3-0 and he literally let a player run a circle around him because he was that slow.

I love the way he never gives the ball away, and his leadership on the pitch.

With us losing more and more of our older players, I think it's really important to keep Jorginho to provide the experience and level-headedness needed to help the youngsters.

Gilmour said that he based a lot of his own game by watching Cesc so being with Jorginho can help him a lot.

Now I'm singing Baka's and Kante's song...

Was today basically him being told he can leave?.

Very strange what's going on. Was a deal already agreed with Juve behind closed doors?

It does seem strange he hasn’t played any minutes since the restart. He seems very professional so I can’t see him coming back really unfit.

maybe a deal has been done I mite be wrong but I don’t think Kante play as the holding player once before the restart.

We are winning without him now, obviously we look more shaky in the buildup and maybe we lose possession here and there but as long as the results are there it means that Frankie is right for not playing him. This shows that we actually have good depth, IMO Kante should rest and the same goes with Mount so I expect to see a different team against West Ham which might be a chance for Jorginho to start.

He played most games part from a short period after the International break where he was benched for some games and also due to the recent suspension. I doubt that Lampard stopped counting on him and he doesn't seem unhappy warming the bench these last games, we'll see how long that lasts. Barkley stepped up, Mount is played more deep and Gilmour is there as well, maybe it's still some experimenting done by Lampard but it's working.

I've tried to like Jorginho but I prefer Kante. I've never seen a conundrum like this where two players counter act each other so equally within a squad. Each players presence in the team almost dictates which way the team has to play. With Kante its a more sit back and counter game and with Jorginho its a quick pass through the opposition type of game. To be brutally honest I just think Kante and the rest of the squad are better suited to playing his way than Jorge's. I also think Kante has more of an impact playing in his style. Jorge's passing while considerable isn't incisive enough and often relies upon another pass from somebody else to really open up the opposition. He is not a Pirlo, he is lightweight and he is slow. Harsh I know.

I have absolutely no idea what Frank is going to do about this but I'm beginning to see a style of play developing that may be mirroring the team of 2004 -2006. Frank has had plenty of time to think about the restart and a fully fit squad and we are back with Kante playing a holding role and 3 wins from 3. I just think he sees Kante as his Makele and Mount/Barkley as himself.

Geez that guy writes like Jorginho nicked his girlfriend

We've been just fine without him. Our victories have not been unconvincing or tense and nervy at all.

We can play with Kante and Jorginho though, or do you prefer Kante in the middle?

I think Jorginho has been our best player in the middle to be honest, and I haven't forgotten the good performances he's put there this season. I wouldn't say we've gotten a lot better defensively with Kante there either tbf, yes we haven't lost yet but let's not pretend our defence has been any different, the same problems are still there only this time we have a lot of players available and aren't crawling with injuries.

The issue seems to be when Jorginho and Kante are played together ... we have a terrible record when they both play ... when it is one or the other then it seems to work a lot better ...

That's only in the pivot though tbf. But I personally prefer Jorginho in the middle than Kante, and Kovacic should always start imo, the team plays much better when he's in the side. But I think Jorginho offers a lot more stability, people might think I'm mad when I say that, but I don't see that much of a difference defensively with Kante there, we're still making a lot of errors and getting caught on the counter. That Leicester game was one of our worst performances of the season until the 2nd half.

I think we've only played with a midfield of Kovacic-Jorginho-Kante twice, Southampton and City, we smashed Southampton and we played really well against City all things considered, they're just a quality team, with a better defence we could've won that, individual errors cost us, Mahrez had Emerson on strings.

Jorginho & Kovacic formed that great partnership earlier in the season when we had a good run. Kante being thrown straight back in ruined it.

Shall I tag Gol15?

Has there been any rumors about Jorgi leaving this summer? I know there has been the continuous link with Juve bc of Sarri but I don't recall hearing anything really credible. It's pretty odd that he hasn't featured at all since the restart. Maybe it says more about Gilmour and where Lampard sees him and less about Jorgi "falling out of grace." The next month will be telling for sure.
