To a degree. However, they waited for our weakness to appear, mounted 1 attack, got their shot on target and won the game. No team can seriously expect to be counted as the fourth best team in the entire country if one attack means they completely fold. If that is the quality of the 4th best team maybe this is turning into Serie A

tikki takka will not work especially if it’s going to be the only way of playing. You need to change things up.

this has been proven time and time again when teams just sit back and wait for us to lose the ball. 

We have been doing this to lesser teams at home

Leicester ( lost) 

Southampton ( draw) 

Everton ( draw) 

wolves ( draw) 

that is not to mention our away games were teams applied similar tactics and we got done.

I will say it again. If teams want to beat us all they need to do is play a ridged defensive tactic and wait for the break.

I feel LB is an area we need to look at improving in the Summer. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh, but bar a few decent runs - Emerson really didn't look that good and doesn't fill me with confidence defensively.

I know, the lack of perspective is in some cases so chronic, it’s as if their eyes have been glued onto the premier league trophy forever. Try looking at the immense success we had in the past couple of decades as an anomaly rather than a benchmark, and you might enjoy watching a bit more. Bigger picture- you’re insanely lucky to support a team that’s in the premier league, let alone one in the top 6. Is that really so “depressing”?

I don't buy it. Not anymore. At first I thought it's the players but after so much time I'm not naive to think that our players don't understand how to play. It's Sarri that thinks that any team in any league can play like Napoli in Serie A, that actually is a basic error of judgement. Tactics get figured out, teams get figured out. 

If Wolves can get 1 break and create 1 shooting chance and score from it while we put countless blocked shots, 6 shots on target, crosses from multiple free kicks, 13 corners and still need Hazard to have 1 crazy good shot from outside the box in order to not lose...it's Sarri's tactics that are not working. This isn't the first time where as soon as we lose the ball the opposition scores, nothing has changed since Novemeber.

If Sarri didn't choose to play with a false 9 those 2 games against Man City, he would have lost the big majority of the fans support long ago.

Higuaín, again looks out his depth. He just does not seem to have the physical levels for the PL. Bar 2 goals against Huddersfield and one against Fulham, all the other games, he reminds me of Morata. Can't get into the game. It is worrying. He offered nothing at all today. Really needed that win but will take that. But huge blow. Because we have a tough away game next week, where I reckon we may drop points also. So glad Hazard stepped up there because this was another game where you are thinking, this is where you need your big players to stand up and he did exactly that. But big chance blown here.

Fair point. But, the Wolves goal you have described as "a fluke".

Do you think the ultra high press we had on the half-way line contributed, in any way, to that goal?

Some older supporters remember what it was like when relegation to the old Division 3 was staring us in the face.

If it was a one off, we wouldn't be seeing this reaction. The fact is we struggle against any team that puts every man behind the ball. None of the other teams around us struggle like we do. I don't know how many matches I have seen this season where we have reached 30-35 minutes without a single decent chance created or shot on goal. The best we could manage in that amount of time today was a Higuain shot on an angle that was impossible to score from without the keeper making a mistake.

And their goal wasn't a fluke. We concede tons of sloppy goals like that, it happens too often for it to be a fluke.

Maybe it's the syntax, and i'm not getting your point right. It's this match thread i was talking about, not the team, or today's match on the pitch against a very good team set up not to be beaten. Cheers.

This has happened multiple times this season, we give away the ball, opponent creates 1 chance and scores, or has 2 shots on target and 2 goals. Not a fluke anymore, not the fault of the players anymore.
