Trippier is the more consistent one but a large part of that is James being plagued with injuries. No idea what his issue is now. Looks checked out and overweight. 

James is a passenger at the moment who is one of the biggest perpetrators of "dialling it in".

 

Yes. He's unrecognisable from the player of recent seasons. The persistent injuries have really affected him mentally as well as physically.

still our most reliable source of goals even yesterday when in the final third he looked better. 
 

but he does look unfit and needs a preseason. Having said that he has had a very start stop career with injuries that is bound to impact him.. 

of all the players he is one player I would still give more latitude to. People tend to forget he was always languid and very unlike lamprey in the sense he doesn’t bomb forward every opportunity. I don’t think he is the fastest fb ever so doesn’t overcommit himself.

Wouldn`t Reece benefit from losing from upper body weight? I think he is simply carrying way too much weight considering he is supposed to get up and down the right wing all game. His strength helps him outmuscle opponents but it also makes him a bit slow and most of all injury-prone. The current state he is in is quite shocking. Reece James is one of my favourite players and I still think he has the potential to be the best RWB in the world but last couple of games were just bad. His defending against Madrid was absolutely horrific and as others have mentioned his body language also seems off. Like he gave up on the season ... which is unacceptable. We still have to fight to win every single game and try to finish the season decently. It very much matters and will help us get a better start to next season.

Reece suffered a hamstring injury vs Real and is out for the season. Can we please now get him surgery to fix these ongoing problems.

Been suffering the same injury for more than a year now. Needs to get that hamstring sorted ASAP. 

Hopefully between now and pre-season we can get his hamstring fixed and ready for the new season. Last season for the most part he had Vinicius Jr on toast but this season James looked well off it.

His body cannot be relied upon. A liability at the moment and unreliable.

Should really have taken the surgery instead of fighting for an England spot for WC. Hope he doesn't live to regret it.

It won't happen because we are stuffed up with the FFP, but appreciating that we have thh youngster Gusto coming in, i would really have liked us to go all in for Cancelo, who clearly has no future at Man City.  If we could move Cucurella out all the better as Cancelo can play either side and at least for the times that James is injured we would have more than adequate cover there.

Good call on Cancelo, only issue is he is only ever happy as a starter. 

I wonder whether someone should now actually look at changing him into a DM. That will put less pressure on his Hammy's.

He'd still be running a fair amount regardless with how we play and are going to play under Pochettino. 

He's just far too top heavy and hasn't rehabilitated his hamstring at all.

According to Lamps James will not require surgery. Makes you wonder if he is refusing to have the procedure. Prior to this season he was missing 33% of games, with his season ended now this has gone up to 58% missed.
