Zouma was the best centre-back prospect we had until Jose decided he didn´t fit. Not sure what the loan spells have done to his development or confidence but I´d rather give him another chance over Rüdiger.  He´s baloney

Are you winding us up? He's a beast.

Rüdiger a ball-playing CB? I don´t disagree with the fact he may be our best at the position at the current moment and time (jeez). But have you seen him with the ball? He´s got two sticks for legs. I don´t believe we can win a league title with that man at the back, but that remains to be seen. I withstand my position.

It’s a risk but I’m excited about Lampard. I was a fan of Sarri’s aswell but meh, he’s gone and made some comments about us only existing for 20 years so his critics were right in their insults, he’s a tramp!

John Terry was no better with the ball at feet,.

Not sure about that, mate.

Watch this goal and you might think differently.

That’s just one example but JT used to ping it over the top like that quite often.

Anyone reckon we could have a new captain with Lampa coming in?

I hope so. Azpi ain't captain material in my eyes but i imagine he'll end up getting it.

Pinging an occasional ball over yeah i remember not too shabby, but my point is we shouldn't read too much into Rudigers ball game, he's on the pitch because of his strength, speed and aerial ability.

John Terry was actually a brilliant ball player with both feet, massively underrated in this regard. Even if he was poor, he had a defensive understanding that was out of this world, something Rudiger doesn't come close to.

out of interest why do you think this ?

Just doesn't seem like a leader to me, if we're trailing i wouldn't be looking to Azpi to lift my mood or get in someones ear when he needs to.

I agree .... Dave is a good solid reliable "senior pro" but not a leader for me ...

When Terry broke into the team he regularly hit superb long diagonal balls ala Frank Lebouf.

That aspect of his game petered to pretty much nothing when JM took over.

He played in the juniors and I think the ressies as a midfielder.

With this squat u would play like this

                     Kepa

         Azpi-Rudiger-Christensen

James                                       Emerson

                    Kante-RLC

          Pulisic-Abraham-Pedro

Petition to get @coco unmodded you think? He's just blasphemed Lord Terry twice in an hour.

We have 8 centre midfielders, i cant see us playing any formation that doesnt use at least 3 of them.

I would be suprised if it isnt 433 or 4231 mext season.

Disagree, JT has always played the ball out of defence with confidence whoever he's played for.

He's always been able to hit 40/50 yard passes out of the defence, with either foot, he was doing it up until the time he left Chelsea. It was a side of his game that always seemed to go under the radar.

JT played one of the best passes Ive ever seen at the bridge to play Ashley Cole in, it was an absolute beauty. He has it in his capabilities to hit long and short with both feet so I`m surprised to see anyone claim he isnt good with his feet. He was a midfielder as a kid and spent time learning from Leboeuf , who was a fantastic passer.

Rudiger isn't going to ever pass the ball as well as Luiz, but he's still very comfortable passing the ball out of defence. I think we could win the league with Rudiger, it's other areas of the squad that stops us from achieving it though. I think Rudiger would get into every defence in the league.

He would get into City's defence alongside Laporte.

He would get into Liverpool's defence alongside Van Dyke.

I think he is better than Tottenham's defenders, Vertonghen is aging and Alderweireld hasn't been as good as he used to be.

He is better than every CB at Arsenal and United.

I´ll take Christensen over Rüdiger every day of the week. Is that going to be our CB pairing going forward? Luiz is a liability but given our lack of depth will probably rack up minutes. Ampadu looks great but he´s too young to be a regular feature. Imagine if we still had Ake. Someone willing to make a list of bad decisions this club has made in the transfer market the past ten years? See ya when you complete the list (probably will take the same amount of time).

Give me 20 minutes. I've already got 197,865

All scousers.

OK JT was a bad analogy, forgive me blossoms. But i wont take part in the pre-season slaying of Rudiger, he may not be a great ball player, but he's got the heart and strength in his game that were going to need this coming season, the time to talk about replacing him is a whole year away yet.
