I don't think we'll lose him for free. Worst case we sell him for a bit less in Jan. And by then the likes of Real, PSG, Barca may even be interested because of the price.

If you believe the stories regarding his image rights and that being the main driver of the contract issue, then 'his entourage' should be quite satisfied with an approach from either Utd, Real or Barca.

All the foreign teams can offer him a contract in January to move for free.

I'm not saying David Silva is a poor man's Mata, because clearly he wasn't, but back in 2012, we sang "you're just a s*** Juan Mata" when playing city and I don't think it was tongue in cheek...

Of course these chants are always a bit tongue in cheek. But yeah if you had made a poll between chelsea fans that season, Mata would most likely have won. They were biased however. If you had asked the general public Silva would probably have won (he also always played ahead of Mata in the NT), and you wouldn't have found many who would have called Silva a poor man's Mata...

Majority of the posters in here dont understand football or the technicalities of it. They only understand passion shown and kilometers ran so id rather not take their word for it. I watched all the potter games and in a lot of them we dominated, including champions league games against dortmund and in the group stages against AC milan.

Potters last few games for us:
L Chelsea 0-2 Villa - 2.16-0.92 xG in our favour
L Chelsea 2-2 Everton - 2.37-1.27 xG in our favour
W Chelsea 3-1 Leicester
W Chelsea 2-0 Dortmund
W Chelsea 1-0 Leeds

So clearly we were doing somewhat okay? Even the games we lost, we actually dominated them and if we could finish we would have won.

Those % minutes are a moot stat as all those players joined in january, and it would have taken them some time to adjust first as well before they could really play for the side, by which point Potter was already sacked at the beginning of April.

im not abusing lampard, Im just capable of knowing the difference between what he did for us as a player vs his wretched time as a manager. I just dont rate him higher than Terry or Drogba both as a player or a legend of the club. They're the same person biologically, but not in the same capacity. If you've spent years on an online forum only discussing football with people of the same certain demographic then its probably why your opinions and views on football are so out of touch and dated.

xG don't win you games or points though. Potter had the exact same issues at Brighton too so players alone can't be blames here, its a pattern with teams that Potter has managed in the Prem.

You claimed Lamps didn't give youth a chance, the % clearly shows that isn't the case. Out of the players i spoke of only Madueke was signed in January. Chukwuemeka signed in August, Hall was an academy lad so was already here and Fofana as mentioned didn't get a look in with either manager really.

Have you noticed that no one on this forum, or i imagine in real life, take you football opinion seriously? Instead of claiming to have some divine footballing knowledge look internally and realise you're just a classic twitter fan that gets entertainment from engagement and edgy views in an attempt to boost their own ego when everyone else realises that really you're just a bit of a bellend with a superiority complex and a low IQ.

Never said they did, but its a pretty clear indicator of the performances. And like I said, performance wise we are actually not as bad as some make out with potter. Under lampard, the performances were even worse than the results

I think you're just a very angry and bitter man that you're favourites have turned out to be absolute stinkers. One of the typical xenophobe fans who clearly only rates and cares for white english players, and it turns out they're getting chucked out of this club like yesterday's garbage.

Its funny you think you're in the majority of the way you think and the buffoons you have agreeing with you by liking your posts, but unfortunately you and the other brexit fans are nothing but a small irrelevant minority in the grand scheme of things that the ownership and other sets of fans laugh at and make fun of.

Hopefully this deal is done by the end of the week and everyone can move their separate ways.

I agree, just want it done now. Friday is pretty much like a mini deadline day for us really. Might even make a thread for it!

Mount, Ziyech, Mendy, Romeloo, Ruben, Azpi (going to miss him, but it’s time), Auba all still to move on. 7 players in 3 days, can we do it? Do we need to sell/release all in time for end of June cutoff for FFP? Who knows, but we are in for a ride for a few days before the incoming transfer window really opens for us 😂.

Man United initially declined our offer to meet in person to discuss the deal. They made an offer for free agent Rabiot however he is going to re sign for Juve.

Now United have changed their mind and plan to sit down with us. Apparently if they up their offer to 55mill plus 5 in add ons we will accept and the matter will be over, however we won't go back on our refusal of their last offer of 50mill plus add ons so United will need to up it to get this done.

Been mentioned by Fabrizio.

Next 24 hours they’ll meet face to face and discuss again. United have already caved given they said they wouldn’t.

Rabiot resigning for Juve changed their position.

Snake this snake that...  Grow up.. and anyone else who thinks a player moving to another club is Treacherous and unforgivable. What do you not understand about this being a business, where players are offered serious money for their services. Is Declan rice a snake for wanting to go to City at the end of his contract? or is he looking for the best financial deal and chance of winning silverware. Probably both. He's ex Chelsea too so presumably for some small minds on here a snake for leaving us to West Ham all those years ago.

Snake this snake that beware the ides of Lampard - the treacherous unforgivable ex legend who came back to help the club out and was pilloried by sections of the clubs fan base. The snake... signed for us from West Ham after going through their academy. Can't be proper Chelsea as he wasnt a youth product.

CFC has approached players in exactly the same manner as as United have done with Mount and you dumbos all celebrate it. Absolutism is for ball lickers. you lot calling mount a snake either need to grow a sack or get a better understanding of how football works. Muppets.

This, I really don't understand calling player snake this or that. There is no different between moving between clubs than moving between companies.

Unless its a certain Real Madrid goalkeeper , now that is a proper snake .

I've still been hoping he'd sign a new deal, but looking less and less likely. I really hate the idea of him signing for Utd, but him going there on a free next year would be even worse so hopefully we get this done.

xG means sweet f all. The fact Potter has managed to get two teams to score significantly less than their xG shows he wasn't the manager for the big stage. Some of the performances under Potter were as abysmal and boring as Sarri's tenure. He didn't have a clue to set up or train a team, which in turn led to the majority of the squad being hugely unfit.

Who are my favourites that have turned out to be stinkers? This should be interesting. Xenophobia is also an interesting insult to use, must have JFH as my PP for a joke and RLC in my bio due to my white superiority. Quite literally the laziest argument you could have used and saying as much just shows your lack of ability to argue rationally. I dont agree with what you say so you're racist!!! laughable.

Have you ever been to the bridge? You think the average match going fan hated Mount and Lampard? You're the vocal minority little guy. You're the loud twitter fan that every actual fan laughs at and are embarrassed to have associated with the club.

I still think that IF Mount joins Man Utd, it would be a treacherous move. I guess I have a different concept of loyalty than many of the folks on here.

I fully understand how my loyalty and integrity works.

Wilkins was sold to fund the East Stand. A different age.
Mata didn't matter as we had Hazard.
Matic was past his prime.

As I say, I would like to keep Mount. He is entitled to get the most money he can. The club is also entitled not to be held to ransom. It is a tricky situation. We don’t really know the details. I hope he stays. But IF he chooses United that will be the move of a traitor. imho. Humble opinion.

Good job football is full of traitors then otherwise we wouldn't have had Cole, Drogba, Lampard, Costa etc etc winning trophies for us at Chelsea

oh, there is a HUGE difference.  Come on.

To clarify. I really hope we can keep Mount.  But if he does go, yeah I will be pissed off with him, especially for joining a rival like that. Not cool. imho.

You blokes think it is fine and it is just the way it is. . .that is your opinion. I dont agree. My concepts of loyalty and integrity are clearly different.

I mean, I will get over it and all of that.  I wouldnt wish anybody any ill will. But i also think it would be okay to be pissed off about it - IF it happens.

Remember the scousers when we almost signed Gerrard?

Let's say the club want him out more than Mount wants out, what is he supposed to do? From what I've read (all rumours of course) is that we have messed around with his contract offer and pulled the deal we promised him. Why should he stay? His head could be turned because of how poorly we have dealt with him and Utd are a club that is willing to pay close to the fee we want.

Is he supposed to say no to Utd and just stay here on a low wage while we sign others who are paid more than him. That's not a snake, that's just wanting to be valued. I am the same in my job, if i feel I am doing better than my work colleagues then I want to be paid the same or more than them.

We have not heard of any contract offers for a long time, I think it's pretty obvious the club want to sell him and they don't rate him as highly as some do.  Mount probably knows that and he's doing his best to secure a move and Utd is the best option for him.

Mason Mount has received a very VERY good offer from the club and the Club obviously want to keep him. The club DO NOT WANT TO SELL HIM. Our new manager wants to keep him. However, The club will not be held to ransom by a player. NO player is bigger than the club. The wages offered to Mason Mount by the club is a very decent deal. A really good deal.

Mason Mount has a new agent – an agent who is based in Manchester strangely enough.

I think at this point if MM was going to leave us it would be in the treacherous region of actions.

Lets just say. . .that you do not know.  Lets just say. . . .you do not have a clue.

The wages and deal offered to Mason Mount is MORE than generous.
