I don't like liverpool but its dishonest to say that they are nothing special. They are the european champions and currently have a 100 percent record at the top of the league with a 15 game unbeaten run from last season. The truth of the matter is that we aren't good enough and need reinforcements once the transfer embargo is lifted.

Easy is an understatement. The oppo can either burn our fullbacks with pace, go long to the middle to catch our CBs sleeping, or win a foul/play for corners because we have sh*te tactics on set pieces.

Obviously not when every season Liverpool gets more and more favors. Not at all. After this half people will say how Liverpool is soooo great and how we are soooo poor, but the reality is they are worse just the ref gifted them a clean sheet.

Liverpool haven't looked that amazing but our defending is so grim, we'll not win many matches if we can't defend better and it's every game so far just take a look at our goals for v goals against. 

Disappointing 1st half for multiple reason. I wouldve took 3 points from wolves away, liverpool at home, but it doesnt make losing to this lot any easier. 

Set pieces we are all over the place, and unfortunately Abraham hasnt stepped up today so far. 

Hopefully we can get an early goal, and put some pressure on. 

Might have to be grimsby for franks 1at home win though.

When did they last win the league?

I mean you seem convinced it’s rigged for them so they must have won it multiple times in the past few years....

if you look back on the first half, apart from a super free kick and a corner Liverpool haven't had an effort on goal or penetrated the box to trouble Kept......of course the pundits on Sky won't mention that...it will just be how great the bin dippers have been

a poor first half, 2 goals down, 2 injuries and amateur league defending.  We didn't create much and we look very fragile in the middle and at the back. Tammy missed crucial chances. It's going to be a very long season, we look more like a mid table team.  We will all need a lot of patience the boys and Frank, Liverpool was mid table for years while building this team.

 

13 conceded in 5.5 games is embarrasing.

Reminds me of AVBs tenure, we would attack in droves but our defending was so bad it cost us every other game.

This has some alarming similarities 

We used to have great defending and tactics with players built like brick houses. Nowadays every other week we have injuries and ship loads of goals

European Champions in the season where all big teams played like sh*t, ffs Spuds were in the final. Their record here in this league is very clear, they get to be favorite for every game home or away and every ref. If it was us it would still be rigged for us.

I think the aim should be to be more pragmatic and try get our defence sorted before trying to get the attack sorted

Probably why it's rigged. 

Interesting that they’re talking about phase of play. As that’s why we never got the foul on Abraham a couple of weeks back as it was a different phase of play because the ball went backwards. The ball went backwards after the Mount offside so surely it’s a different phase of play so VAR shouldn’t have got involved?

Does it work for anybody? The only teams that get away with it are the very top teams, and the only reason why they get away with it is because they don't need to do much defending. Zonal marking is the inferior defending tactic, it always has been. It's a sure way to concede goals.

Our midfield is doing most of the work for that one. The moment our defence needs to come to the fore, we go to sh*te.

This looks really bad. We have been forced to use two changes so it will be very difficult to change much in our game. Alonso and Willian have been poor as one would expect. Kante is clearly not yet match fit. Abraham has been toothless today as well.

First goal, nothing our team could do there. The shot was perfect so the defending there is not at fault. The foul that led to it...maybe. Second goal right after our own goal so concentration was falling apart at those moments and yet again, Liverpool gets a foul in a dangerous area simply by running into our player. Liverpool's defense also allowed us to have 2 clear cut chances, and a goal that var took away.

We have been the better team in open play in my opinion, creating better chances and opening them up. Set pieces though...... Oof.

Indeed if you think it’s rigged why bother watching at all?

2-0 is very flattering to them, we’ve actually created more good chances from open play, it’s just a shame our defending at set pieces is not really good enough. But if we can get the next goal then I think they’ll be genuinely worried.

We‘ve come back from 2-0 down to beat them before (and that was one of my most enjoyable matches). Stranger things have happened.
