I don’t think anyone pays 90 mil upfront or at least the full amount when it’s a big transfer, it’s not the norm. There are usually payment schedules and then incentive based variable sums to be added in. 

Seems to be a lot of tweets about this today quoting various sources that it’s edging close and a break through has been made. And because Twitter is always 100% factually accurate all the time...

I really wanted him. At that time he wasn't considered one of the best in the world. I understand Tottenham refusing to sell him to us. We wouldn't block any of those moves but then again we have class.

Ex swindon striker fjortoft. I think he is pretty reliable on german transfers, chritian falk is probably the only other one if listen to. 

Only €10m apart now, sounds promising. Cant see a deal falling through with that little difference. Hopefully agree a fee by the weekend.

He tweeted later that bayer dropped there price from €100m to €95m and we upped ours to €85m, so hopefully both sides are showing movement towards a conclusion. 

He also said earlier today that Havertz told Bayer to hurry and get the deal done, and that he wants to sign for us asap so he can start training. 

Obviously the reports have to be taken with a pinch of salt, but im confident its close.

He was on Alex Goldberg's 'The Byline Podcast' on Patreon last week. He is a pretty reliable source when it comes to German transfers... (pretty sure someone already stated that last part). 

So looks like a deal could be done tomorrow.
