Probably like buying a car...kick a few tires, check what's under the bonnet, tell the dealer your looking elsewhere and then point out all the faults and agree a price.

Sounds like me meeting my Mrs in 1987, she’s become a vintage now

This thread is already longer then some of our own current player’s thread lol

Last time we tried to buy a world class talent? This has been sort of semi-public for a while also.

Azpi has been one of our best player and best RB since he got here and his thread is only 42 pages long, this one is 50 and the guy hasnt even put on the Chelsea shirt yet and the rumours only started a couple months ago...it wasnt a knock on the guy i just find it quite amazing to be honest.

Marcotti rubbished the havertz rumours when they started to gather pace, saying why would we buy him, when you have just bought Ziyech.

So i dont think he is very much in the loop, and probably trying to save some face.

Absolutely, that’s a great point. He may understand the business and politics of football along with not bashing Chelsea, as some have said, but that doesn’t mean he knows anything about anything.

🚨 | Bayer Leverkusen’s Rudi Völler on Kai Havertz, to Sportbuzzer: “What makes Kai Havertz so interesting is the fact that he is world class in four or five positions. Of course we would be very happy if he *stayed* for another year, it is clear that the departure of such a player, despite the high transfer fee, always means a loss - see Leipzig and Werner."

Both sides play hardball, for 10-15 Millions it's worth to drag it out for another week or two. Say whatever we want about Mariana, but she has to have Roman's interest at heart, can't just hand out boss' money out like lollies. The power of balance is on our side, Havertz won't want to stay and sign an extension. If this deal collapse, in 6-12 months time they will lose 30-40 Millions

This signing excites me as much as Werner and the sooner this is completed the more we can focus on the defence.

Agree, but i am sure there is a lot going on in the background regarding the defence.

That sounds like sh*te negotiation on our part...Marina rolled over and got her tummy tickled by spit in face?

TBF they wanted a £90m deal regardless originally,so really it’s £72m rising to £90 depending on success.

Any sort of success will easily cover that £18m so a good deal IMO.

Signing one of the world's most coveted young players for a fee that doesn't even put him into the world's top 10 most expensive transfers is good business if you ask me.
