August 31, 20223 yr I didn't catch the match yesterday. Was he really good or is this just the classic overhyping of youth players that are new to the team coupled with frustration over Havertz' performances?

He got on the ball once and literally ran at their defenders, and cut the ball back into the box. That is literally all he did.

Cos that was the only balls, he won, or was passed to, he shows tenacity and willingness, does it say, Saints utilised him better, or will TT persevere, and watch him come good?

He scored 6 goals in 32 appearances for Southampton last season so I wouldn’t even say that they utilised him that well. All I know is I’m not massively impressed with him from what I’ve seen so far - hopefully he comes good but I won’t lose any sleep if he doesn’t
August 31, 20223 yr Author If I recall he had an early patch where he scored a number in a short period and then had a long period without scoring many. Not sure why as i don't watch much of the Saints yet there might be a logic to it someone else knows on the forum.
September 2, 20223 yr Broja has signed a new 6 year deal excellent news, hopefully he will get time to develop with the squad now with more talk of loans.
September 2, 20223 yr Great news, I genuinely see him being a starter for us for years to come, as soon as Tuchel has the bottle and puts him in over Havertz
September 2, 20223 yr Was not expecting this at all. Fantastic news, he may not be consistent enough yet but Broja brings something different, and his brute strength is something this team has been crying out for.

Saw articles months ago that the owners would concentrate on contract extentions and raises for our current players (Mount, James and Kante the 3 main names quoted) once the window was closed. 1 day later and one signed up already. No secret I rate Broja highly so am very happy with this news. Happier if he stays fit and starts to play. TT can even do that on Saturday without having to drop Havertz or Mount if he wishes. Jorgi---Kovacic Mount---Havertz----Sterling Broja

He scored when he started for Southampton, once they were safe he would make an appearance from the bench only as by that point it was clear that he wasn't going to stay with them therefore why start a loanee and upset their own players.
September 2, 20223 yr Great news! Diego Armando Broja all the way. Hopefully TT is able to provide the goods for this lad.

Jorgi---Kovacic Mount---Havertz----Sterling Broja I would love to see this! Not sure TT will risk the 4 at the back yet given recent defensive frailties + new signing in Fofana but you have to think this back 4 is workable soon: James Fofana Koulibaly Cucurella/Chilwell. Add Kante into there and you have to think that's our strongest starting outfield 10 barring Auba.
September 2, 20223 yr Interesting in Citehs presser today, he has been adamant Haaland can play every game coming up, young and fit, also he would play Two strikers, good attacking footie

That’s brilliant, or being a sceptic, his price if sold reflects in his massive contract, plus PEA is gonna mentor him no doubt
September 2, 20223 yr I'm not convinced by Broja at all yet. But he's definitely worth a start now given he's the only forward we have on the bench who can displace Mount and Havertz until Auba is avaliable. Hopefully he starts off strong and really cements his place in the team! Good luck Armando Edited September 2, 20223 yr by HazardousChoice

The fact hat we are going into the season with only 8 defenders says to me that 4 at the back is very much the plan ...
