June 28, 20206 yr Gutted to hear about pulisic"s injury. Lamps says he felt a little tightness in his calf. I was shocked to still see he and William on after 70 mins considering the amount of running they put in against Mancity
June 28, 20206 yr if true, staying healthy might be the biggest challenge Pulisic will face in his career.
June 28, 20206 yr That was an awful first half, poor football, lack of possession, creation, accuracy. Lampard's substitutions made the change, Kovacic and Barkley added a lot of power to the midfield and we looked much better, faster and more dangerous in front of the goal. I'm glad to see our defense doing the job in another game, Zouma and Rudiger defensively were very good, Azplicueta is in good form as well. But our buildup is not good enough, we need a CB that can control the game from behind, who can build a proper attack by possession. Kante is Kante in the defense, but when he has the ball, his technique isn't that great which is sometimes worrying. But his work rate and his defensive ability recovers his technique and ball skill issues. Pulisic and Willian were good, especially Pulisic. When he has the ball, you know something is going to happen. Abraham had a lot of running today but didn't really do much. He scored a great goal but his positioning was poor there, that offside he had to notice that. Important win, addition to our confidence and our run, let's keep that up! COME ON CHELS!!!
June 28, 20206 yr Poor start in the first half, thankfully we gradually improved. Better second half, the subs seemed to make a difference. Thought Pulisic was again very good and Kasper Schmichael made a great save in the first half from him. Hopefully his injury isn't too serious.

There's no reason not to hold it there Well there is when the whole point of having them at Wembley is a money making exercise. If United and City had been drawn they could have held it anywhere up North it seems a bit pointless making them travel to an empty Wembley.
June 28, 20206 yr Man u Vs Chelsea. .. f**k yeaaah.. time for lamps to school solksjaerSo far Lamps is the one who got schooled there times. Let's hope for a different outcome.
June 28, 20206 yr Just caught the replay. Very different second half and glad to sneak a win in a tough away tie. Nice to see a clean sheet and beyond set pieces we actually looked pretty secure. Interesting that Jorginho didn't feature again, even off the bench. Was Frank asked about that in the presser afterwards?
June 28, 20206 yr I felt Pulisic and Willian should have been rested but clearly Willian was good for the assist. A lot of the young guys have been found out as the season has gone on, Tomori, James even Mounts poor finishing. Hopefully some of them can grow into the roles. Emerson is not chelsea standard Rudigier, Zouma doesn’t work and Rudigier is a clumsy player who dives in and uses his arms a lot, but does add strength and is quick for a big guy Tammy will be better for the run out

It's crazy, 3 play off finals, 2 fa cup semis, fa cup final, and charity shield, perfect time for authorities to use these games to start to test spectators attending even if starting with 5k supporters each, Wembley holds 90k so easy, I bet authorities haven't thought of it

Liverpool, who became the first team to win the league with 7 games spare. 2. Leicester City. Who have been 2nd/3rd basically all year. 3. United. Who have beaten us 3 times already. And finally 4. Man City, who may well yet be champions of europe. Has anyone ever had a more difficult ask to win the cup?!!

Other than that they didn’t create much in either game but we really need to sort out giving away daft free-kicks/bad defending at set plays. It’s going to cost us in this run in eventually.

Even in the 4-0 that was the most lying result of the season. Man Utd only knows how to play counter attack, as a small team, that's why it's so difficult for big teams like us or City. And they are very good at playing as a small team. Counterattack. We are in a better moment, we learn from mistakes and luck cannot always touch them, they play as a small team.
June 29, 20206 yr Shame it didn't work out for Gilmore as he was beginning to impress. His touch let him down badly and gifting possession brought Leicester into the game. He wasn't the only one and Frank had to change things at half time. I really strange game for me to sum up because even with all the errors and and Leicester playing their part I still felt confident we were going to win. I think them missing some early opportunities helped but our defense has been quite good since the re-start. People are giving Rudi stick for a couple of errors but he does a lot of good stuff and is really quick to snuffs out problems other center halfs only dream of. He has real pace and is good in the air. I also like his leadership qualities. I think playing Kante in front of the defence helps free up the other two midfielders to push on and this is where the conundrum becomes apparent. Jorginho just doesn't fit into this system and at the moment this is the system that has beaten 2nd & 3rd in the table. Maybe we have to sell him for a large sum and buy Sancho if we can. I know a lot of fans like his quick passing and the style of football his presence generates but the reality is that we are a bit more secure when he isn't in the team. If we can get another top quality attacking midfielder into the squad then I think we can really push on. I just don't think you can play that quick ticker-tacker Barca at their best football in the premier league without having a Messi, Xavi and Iniesta type players. Players of that quality do not come along that often and frankly Jorginho isn't one of them. Maybe we can slot him in every now and then against a smaller team but for me he just requires the rest of the squad to play a game that either doesn't work in the PL or that the squad just doesn't suit. Any way if we want to play that way in the future we can utilise Gilmore. I feel some confidence building within the squad. Players like Dave, Willian and Rudi are doing well and Mount and Barclay are doing what Frank wants them to do. I can see a pattern of play taking shape under Frank it includes players like Mount and Barclay arriving in the box at the right time. Just like the master himself.

Or am I getting you mixed up with someone else? Or, reading your post again, I might just be being dim, and misreading your point. In which case, sorry.
