Chilwell has been finished for a while now. How do we have 3 left backs at the club but none are good enough? (Maybe Maatsen is, don't know yet)
April 21, 20242 yr His injury record is bad just 9 league starts all season. Bit hard to judge just on yesterday yet injuries may dictate we need someone else.

April 21, 20242 yr Again, we have to ask who was responsible for improving his contract last Spring when the entire team was sh*t? He's not a durable footballer. I think he's finished at the top level. Much like Fofana (who by the way suffered another set back last month).

Granted Cucurella is bang average but why not try and shift out the often injured overpaid LB with whom we can book a profit, instead of shifting away the other average durable and overpaid LB where we will book a huge loss. I don’t understand the thinking.
May 5, 20242 yr He must be fearing for his position. The injuries were a big enough worry for him, but now his position is really under threat with this tactical change. I'm not sure he can do that Cucurella role, I'm actually pretty confident that he couldn't. I think somebody like James could do the Cucurella role, but that is the only thing I see saving Chilwell right now. I can't see Pochettino moving away from this tactical switch to fit Chilwell back in.

His book value is small, his wages huge, he is always injured but he is English hitting his prime so someone will take him.

Chilwell holding the width at left wing with Cucu inverting or James inverting with Chilwell going forward. Maatsen can do both roles better than Chilwell mind so important we keep a hold of him for next season.

He should be sold , although I’d have my doubts as to whether anyone would pay any sort of fee in conjunction with his presumably large wages.

He could (and has before) invert in terms of underlapping runs but yeah he defiently won't be able to drift into midfield and help control games. I guess potentially (assuming his wages mean we can't sell him) he'd be used as a squad player who will come on at left wing to see out games or left back when we're throwing everything at a leveller.

May 22, 20242 yr We need to find a replacement this summer, that’s another thing Poch messed up. We had Maatsen and he’s far superior than Chilwell now. Chilwell is finished, if anyone comes in for him this summer take the money and run.

July 3, 20242 yr I wonder what will happen to Ben. Probably wont be able to sell him, and doesn’t seem like a tactical fit at full back in Marescas system. Got a suspicion that if we cant get a winger in, he’ll compete with Mudryk at left wing while Sterling moves over to the right with Noni. Thoughts?
