July 18, 20215 yr The Haaland sage is like Marina the Cougar looking for the young stud to fulfill her fantasy...forget it move on and find us an experienced creative midfielder who can unlock defences with a forward pass or shot on target from 25 yards out, instead of us pissing around the box for 10 minutes before passing it back to Mendy.

I don't see the point in signing a creative midfielder when we have Ziyech and Havertz. At this point if we can't sign a tier 1 striker, we might as well stick with what we have.

Yes if he stays for a season they have a better chance at making top 4 and potentially challenging for the title. But, realistically do we see them winning the title even with Haaland? As for top 4 they could do that with or without him. The UCL imho is out of their reach. Those are the pros for keeping him for another season: challenge UCL, Bundesliga/make top 4. Cons miss out on double the release clause or there abouts. Miss out on a bidding war by selling him a year earlier. Potentially stagnate Erling for a season. Even if I take my Chelsea hat off I can't see how logically Dortmund would really want to keep him for another season, unless they trying believe they will challenge for the titles. There's literally no other explanation why you wouldn't take the extra money. Yeah it doesn't make sense. They ended up having to sell Sancho for cheap due to being stubborn last year and now they're trying to do the same for Haaland? If that 68m release clause is true next season they'd be getting ripped off badly

He can also play deeper but I think despite what Frank tried for the most part people are in agreement he should operate further forward. Ziyech just needs time to settle, not to mention Mount is also a creative midfielder. Pulisic can play as a 10 so can Werner and CHO. If we're signing any attackers this season it really needs to be a number 9 for balancing purposes.

If they say no, cool we wait til next summer. No point in dragging this out, we've seen that they will stick to their guns as demonstrated with Sancho.
July 18, 20215 yr Should have just got sancho and stuck with havertz up top Edited July 18, 20215 yr by Adamrb

And Jorghino or Kovacic aren't imaginative enough or the answer when we get 25 yards out, or at least we haven't seen it so far.

July 18, 20215 yr Sky sports, Now saying Baffled by stories saying they will sell for 150million, i still think the deal will involve tammy, and maybe CHO or Pulisic?

Happy to go in to the season with Havertz, Broja and Ugbo joining him and Werner and co. Too much money for other options. Trust in our manager to make the most of what he has, he did last season.
July 18, 20215 yr Right I’m not gonna lie (after some serious optimistic pessimism), the constant posting of Erling Haaland stuff by the BVB Twitter page stinks of a situation similar to Havertz. Before he left, Leverkusen were constantly posting about him; heck they even pushed out a documentary. The silence is deafening, deafening. There’s nothing coming out of all camps. For what it’s worth I genuinely believe every single word I say on this man is a waste bit of effort. He will be staying at Dortmund this season, end of. However, there is the most minuscule (1% or less) chance that the club pull this deal off. Regardless, it’s not happening. Let’s move on.

Not a surprise, his position at Saints will lead to him being linked to several clubs and probably ending up at Newcastle.
