I knew you would come up with something like that.

"Build our team around him"...Sure let's build a team around someone who has been complete trash so far just because he made one decent cross against an opponent that switched off in stoppage time after dominating us for 90 minutes.

He has been trash because Lampard made him trash by playing him as a winger and what not. You don't buy a 70m world class talent only to use him to fill a position randomly. Not surprising that he hasn't been that good when you don't build a team around your best players.

Frank Lampard’s job as manager is under serious threat, The Athletic understands

You've gotta love things like this!

What, so they've already spoken to the Chelsea hierarchy within seconds of the final whistle being blown?

:laugh2:

For attacking Mids, and i like young Havertz, but we should of splurgde that amount on Grealish, and i said this during the summer, the last 10 Mins we looked okay-ish
Pulisic Werner Cho look good as  pacy attackers, need Reece back.

But with no pattern, no movement, and tactical naivety, Grealish would have been another "generational talent" that we would turn into mediocre, leggy and aimless, like the rest of them look at the moment

Probably the same sh*t he will always say blame the players

Also should mention a wake-up call, a lesson learned and missed opportunities.

Tbf, it's not like it's untrue, they're just stating the obvious.

At least Grealish makes things happen for himself. He can dribble and shoot from outside the box, plus he wins tons of freekicks in dangerous positions.

Oh sh*t.

If that is all true, that the club is looking at alternatives and there are tensions with the squad it's all over.

Probably spent the whole of the second half writing this speculative piece.

Then, if it's true, they can follow it up with a "As reported by the Athletic, on Sunday" article....................Zzzzzzzzzzzz

They almost certainly have articles for Pep or Mourinho's walk out and Ole's sacking already written and ready to publish.

When you read a headline “job under threat after city game” 3 minutes after the city game you have to wonder how an American outlet got to know that Chelsea have internally started making plans for his replacement, meeting called, concluded and source leaked then article wrote in 3 minutes...impressive

Was gonna say. Anyone here coulda written that predictable sh*te. It hits all the doom mongers favourite points.

Easy speculation to write lol

Next up will be the links to Tuchel and Allegri

American you say...clearly the leak is Bruce Buck lol

We really can't be this much behind City. We are and this is why Frank's job is in serious threat. When the problems started Frank has done nothing visible to fix things.

It was written before the match correctly assuming we’d get turned over...

In addition to several gilt-edged misses, he has looked increasingly ill at ease with the attacking and defensive demands of operating as a winger in recent weeks and has now failed to score in his last 12 appearances for Chelsea (if he fails to score against City) — his worst scoring drought for more than four years.

My four points for a win points system can't come soon enough. We'd have got a point for winning the second half. City would have got three points, and would have missed out on 4 because they didn't win both halves.

I prefer my fantasy system where the team that scores last wins.

So congratulations, everybody.

You need to right to the FA....is it when the ball owner's mum calls time for tea then it's a next goal wins jobby? Or do we still play the 90 mins and just whoever scores last wins?

Where has the intensity gone out of our game?

Our midfield three looked extremely leggy in the first half... jogging at times and a total lack of presence. We need a dominant player who doesn't get out muscled capable of directing the team

Add to this Azpi who isn't the energetic full back he was  and a clearly not fit Ziyech and City ran riot down our right side in the first half

Attack wise we just didn't do enough to threaten. CHO has to be given a  run of games now

As for Frank there are worrying times ahead for him , fail to be the noisy locals and it could be an early bath for him

I would have a big shakeup in the midfield the next game.  keep Kante at CDM.  Gilmour in an 8 position and Havertz higher up the pitch.  Why not?

Lol Kante. As much as we all love him,he's pretty much useless when you don't play a counter attacking style. That's why the guy played his best at Leicester and under Conte and that's why he's not himself for the past 2-3 seasons.

Lampard is possibly less than three games from being sacked and it will be hard to disagree with that decision or, to be honest, not think Frank has done himself no favours. To buy players like Havertz and Werner and play them so badly out of position is looking for trouble. It's like when we signed Sutton, played him through the middle, but didnt play wingers. It was destined to be a disaster.

This system isn't working and too many players don't look interested or motivated. It's time to roll the dice. Bring in Gilmour. Not for 20 minutes or the odd game. Play him from the start for 8 or 9 games.

Play Havertz as a number 10 and stick with it. Based on today's performance any of the three midfielders could be dropped however I'd stick with Kante out of the three. Mount is massively off form and Kovacic probably hasn't played well for over a year. Kante has been playing well until the past few games.

I'd be happy if Kovacic was moved on this window to be honest. No team relying on him in the centre will ever challenge for major honours on a regular basis.

no excuses SFL had to play counter and not go toe to toe,, we did and game was over in 3o mins.. as a manager not performing good enough.. no solutions... when you are struggling for points you play the most defensive line up... maybe 3 at the back or mount on the wings,, the tactics were woeful.. our slowish fullbacks got no protection .. this was school boy stuff..

agree with this absolutely.. the fact that everytime we have a ball in the center of the pitch the only thing we do is pass wide and hope is very predictable.. we need to freshen up the mid.. get havertz in at 10 .. gilmour and kante would be my pic.. Kova is neat footballer with no end product.. never understood the hype around him last season.. atleast mount gets an assist or two...

My set of rules changes depending on how each Chelsea match goes. My original idea was that if by the final whistle the opponent will have scored more goals than us, the score is reversed and Chelsea is awarded full three points. The FA are yet to reply on that one, bunch of w**kers that they are.

Edited by abramovich

It's been a while since I last posted, and it's not great so where doyou start.

Lampard has to take huge responsibility, absolutely no doubt. But you can't legislate for a lack of desire and huge individual mistakes.

Zouma always makes me nervous, I'm not convinced by him.

Kante is not the player or is not playing in a way that offers anything above a blocker, it's not good enough.

Ziyech, spent most of the game with his hands in the air in exasperation rather than fighting for us (in fairness he wasn't alone) again not good enough.

From the Wolves 2nd half, we've shown little desire and physical toughness. Every 2nd ball/challenge we just don't seem to compete or be convinced we'll actually win.

Sorry for the long drawn out post, but we've more things to fix at the minute than not and it's a worry.
