Tuchels Cup performances for us were outstanding. And he finished in the top 4 (despite starting outside the top 4 places when he took over from Lamps) in his 1st season and was comfortably 3rd for the entirety of his 2nd season which is the best league finish anyone could realistically hope for. To try to pretend Tuchel didn't get fantastic results is simply being dishonest he did everything that could have been expected from him and more. Got top 4 first season after losing the last game, but got in because of results elsewhere on the day. Anyway, the CL is in the past, doesn't mean I have to watch unbelievably dull football every game . His " shrugging shoulder "interview last night didn't help either. He sucks the life out of stadium , hoping he might suddenly get it right when he himself doesn't know why we are underperforming isn't something that was gonna save him . He'll walk away with the sort of money I could only get by winning the lottery, I liked him , but time to go. The Spirit of Roman lives on !

This hurts and I'm being honest, this hurts more than Lampard getting sacked. Nicely put and exactly how I feel. I recall being critical of Watford for their treatment of managers and constant pressing of the panic button but we are possibly worse and it's no wonder other supporters slag us off. I've been busy at work today but also very distracted - going over & over in my mind what possessed our clubs hierarchy to sack one of the best coaches around. A coach who won us the CL and steered us through some very troubled times. Maybe in days / weeks to come, something will come out that makes more sense of it and I know TT hasn't seemed quite the same since the divorce and the change of his persona on the touchline and the run in with Conte etc. Just find it all so very sad and regretable and thankful that going away with the Mrs on Friday for a week and for the first time I can recall, I probably won't even bother to follow the Fulham game Saturday.
September 7, 20223 yr That can't be true otherwise he would have used it in post match interviews. 16 minutes ago, HazardousChoice said: Perhaps if Boehly wasn't completely incompetent to the point he failed to bring in any kind of backroom or admin staff after causing the existing staff to leave Tuchel would have been able to focus on coaching the team and work on our style of play instead of being forced to be our scout/director of football/manager/bus driver and fill half a dozen roles at the club single handedly. Can't be true otherwise he would have used it as yet another excuse in post match interviews
September 7, 20223 yr Thank you Thomas, the CL win was magnificent. Thank you for your dignity in dealing with the club in crises, and good luck in your next job.

Sacking a manager because he doesn't want your big commerical star name, targeting players against the managers Wishes, putting pressure on the manager to explain why he doesn't want whatever name his dumbass wants that week. Coupled with his general incompetence all window as he failed to put a transfer team in place and personally flung himself at every highly player who was rumoured to be on the move, some of which (Raphina, Dembele) had no interest in coming here I think we're in for a struggle with this prick in charge. Boehly Out. Radcliffe in. Can’t sell for 10 years so I’d get yourself to the gym and make sure you’re in peak physical condition for a loooonnngggg struggle.

September 7, 20223 yr I think there was one thing Roman was good at. Feeling the mood in the room and getting the sackings right. You maybe pissed and a bit upset but you could at least reason it out. I think the club this time have totally misread the room and I think a lot of us wont let this go anytime soon. TT became more than a manager when he took on the mantle during the sanctions and to many fans gained a respect beyond just the football. Hard to explain and maybe its just me but I felt he has been let down by the club. But then to only have Potter in your back pocket, promising or not its a huge gamble, and I dont think the club is on a stable enough footing for that gamble.

Welcome to North American management - its not unusual here for Managers / Directors / VP's etc to hold extensive portfolio's within a corporation. Why have 5 Directors of each department when you can have one overseeing 5 departments with 5 trusted managers or supervisors...trust me I know.

Mourhino first time Ancelloti RDM (although he shouldn’t have offered him the job anyway) The Fat Spanish Waiter, what was he thinking Conte Frank Lampard Roman got sh*tloads wrong, he didn’t read the mood, he did what he wanted!

Boehly Out. Radcliffe in. You have to be kidding. The wound is fresh and emotion speaking, but objectively speaking, look at results, atmosphere, manner of performances/defeats, lack of developing players - it what other line of work is that level of performance acceptable? Don't get me wrong, I was a massive TT fan and today is a bad day. But to question the owners ambition or approach might be short-sighted when it is that very ambition that drives the changes. We only see the tip of the iceberg - TT ran into the same problems at Dortmund and PSG.
September 7, 20223 yr Good move - dude had no idea what he was doing offensively. None. Plus, he was a prick. Great move on Boehly's part - looking forward to seeing who he will bring in!

September 7, 20223 yr Saw this, first thing was wow that's quick. Thinking about it through the day, as much as i liked TT, as Lampard it's not that big a deal. For many many months now, i've actually not missed the turgid, utter garbage football we've been playing. In fact it has been embarrassingly f**king painful. So off we go again, another chapter in Being a Chelsea fan. Good luck TT and welcome Mr. Potter. Fifty plus years of watching Chelsea and loved every bit of the roller coaster ride. On this new leg my greatest wish is that we play exciting football and bring back the buzz thats been missing.
September 7, 20223 yr Ugly head of this forum is raising its head. Some absolutely bonehead posts here. Sorry to read all this dross.

Not sure why you're so happy to see Tuchel go. Your boy G.I Gervinho won't get a game under the next manager. It's not like Tuchel was the first manager to bench him he's been a bench warmer his entire career! If anything Tuchel could be criticised for giving Pulisic too much game time, he's featured in every game this season. That's something that will have to change if the next manager is going to be a success. Edited September 7, 20223 yr by HazardousChoice

September 7, 20223 yr As much as I am gutted about Tuchel going what I also can't fathom is the timing. The reports are this wasn't based on last night or even last week or so but something they had in mind. If that's the case why sign the players we did and let others go out on loan without knowing what the incoming manager's thoughts might be on these players? Unless they were already in communication with him (which I very much doubt), then this is a shockingly bad way to run a football club.

Maybe he found out Potter didn't rate Gilmour and Colwill so he sent them to Brighton? But knowing Boehly he found out Potter rated them incredibly highly so he let Gilmour go on the cheap to make his potential new manager happy. Todd has been 3 steps behind everyone all summer.

September 7, 20223 yr What happened!! I left this last night and was on page 6 and now have 370 odd pages to think about!!!!

The speed of which a new manager was identified and offered the job, tells me it was planned. The new signings are mostly for the future (Fofana, Cucurella, new contracts for James and Mount, etc.). These players are signed for the future, because they are quality players.
