I really hope we can beat City with their supposed full strength team. All I keep seeing and reading is that we only beat them twice recently because they didn't have their main team out.

They've even rolled out Mark Hughes on Sky Sports to say exactly the same thing. Honestly, when they are winning with different squads people cream over their strength in depth, yet when we beat them suddenly they trot out "it wasn't our best team".

Let's do this!!

I never thought of that, buts it’s so true isn’t it. Are they now the most smug and entitled club in English football’s history? And I’m not forgetting United and Liverpool when saying that.

Btw, just in case anyone has missed all of the dozens of articles and interviews published this week, but Noel Gallagher is a huge City fan and best mates with Guardiola. He has no doubt they’ll win and says they deserve it.

Mendy’s record against penalties is poor. I really hope Tuchel does something to surprise them. Kepa is pretty good at penalties though..and obviously Willy.

Pulisic isn’t sure to start on Saturday, but his record in the senior finals he has played suggests he generally impacts the biggest games.

Im interested who will start upfront. The rest of the team picks itself

So was Petr's until around May 2012.

I'm 30 so just became eligible for my first  jab - is it bad that I'm delaying it until next week because I don't want to do anything which might risk wiping me out for this game?

Same here, whatever tiny % it is that something bad happens, I'm not missing this final. It's your freedom not to take it but morally if you don't then you should continue to socially distance and wear a mask imo.

You will be hard press to find many neutrals who do not want a City win. I would venture even most United fans wants them too.

I find the opposite tbh. I also find neutrals more put off by the PR puff pieces too. Like when liverpool were winning the league and all the papers were saying how happy the neutrals were despite it being the exact opposite sentiment. Most of my liverpool/united supporting colleagues say they want chelsea to win because we've won it before so its not that big a deal lol also to keep that pep spend a ton with city and hasn't won the cl hanging around his neck.

And who doesn't love an underdog. Even if it's big bad Chelsea.

I would not hesitate getting the vaccine. It protects you and those around you. And you're probably getting Pfizer, my understanding is that it has none or very little secondary effects with the first dose. Astra-Zeneca varies, my wife had fever and muscle pains for a couple of hours, I was mostly fine other than felt tired and a bit dizzy (could be the amount of beer consumed that day to celebrate the vaccine...). If you're not getting it and are out to watch it, wear a mask to protect yourself and others.

Kepa was good for the Frankfurt shootout but has only saved 1 pen out of like 6 in regular games since joining Chelsea. Willy is genuinely a pen specialist and has trained with some of the current City players but he's older now and probably not as sharp.

I am not so sure why a lot of people are bothered with this comment. I am pretty sure Tuchel will say the same thing to our players

I was thinking about the CL finalists from the past and which ones would be comparable to this final and if possible comparable to us winning it.

So the one match that really sticks out for me is the 2002/03 CL season where Juventus played AC Milan in the final.

Why you may ask... Well it was 2 teams from the same league, that season in Serie A the top goalscorer wasn't from either Juventus nor AC Milan (C.Vieri from Inter which at the time was a known team that haven't won any Scudetto since the late 80's) which is similar to this season's PL where Harry Kane is the top scorer.
Furthermore Juventus won Serie A that season while AC Milan was top 3 which at the time gave them a direct CL spot for next season.
Juventus = Man City, AC Milan = us.
The final ended with a penalty shootout and AC Milan won.

Yes, Nedved didn't play in the final.

A good example that it has happen that a team that was worse in the league ended up beating the champions of their league in a CL final, in a season where a team that didn't win any league title in a long time had the top scorer, just like this season Spurs have the top scorer of the PL.

Hoping we see a good game; I won't be too disappointed if we lose this providing we put up a good showing and don't embarrass ourselves, as to me getting to the CL Final was a bonus...but I am royally pissed that we bottled the FA Cup given who the opposition was.

This, as long as we play well and don't do stupid stuff, I can be ok with the result win or lost.

But I completely agree with that fa cup final. No offense to Leicester who is a very good team but we can't lose to Leicester in a final

Two of my best friends are City fans (Dads born in Manchester), so we're gonna watch it together. They don't have any sense of entitlement, but the City fans I see on the web are definitely the worst of the lot. They have no/a terrible sense of humour, and a weird inferiority complex.

I really feel it might go to pens. Who would take ours? I can imagine Jorginho, Mount, Ziyech (don't think he'll start, so imagine he'd be on by then), Havertz... not sure who'd be the fifth taker. Chilly/Reece/Rudi/Silver - take your pic. Would fancy Rudi tbh, good mentality.

What a game it will be.

Nerves are kicking in now, whereas I was cool as a cucumber for the last few weeks.

Still think the pressure is on City more than us.

IMO good to have at least one taker that is a lefty.

Errr our back up taker, Werner would probably be on the list before Mount, Ziyech and Havertz .

In order of who we want taking penalties

Jorgi, Werner, Havertz, Mount, Ziyech/Reece games.

In the order in which to take the penalties, Havertz, Ziyech/reece james, Jorgi, Wener, Mount
