Yes, Nedved didn't play in the final.

A good example that it has happen that a team that was worse in the league ended up beating the champions of their league in a CL final, in a season where a team that didn't win any league title in a long time had the top scorer, just like this season Spurs have the top scorer of the PL.

I guess like When Real beat Athletico in the UCL after Athletico won La liga that season

Penalty is super fun when you are a neutral but it is absolutely nerve-wracking if it is your team.

Oh it's terrible, it takes years off a supporter's life. I couldn't watch the Moscow ones, but I managed to sort of steel myself for the Munich ones, watching it through my fingers, a bit turned away from the telly...

I remember that Munich one, I was not sure which one was more nerve-wracking though the game or the penalties.I

remember screaming at my tv so much. Man we were very2 bad, Mario Gomez kept making wrong run or wrong decision which saved us again and again otherwise it would have been an onslaught.

With everything that happened in that game, I was quite confident in the penalty shoot out. Like most people said, it kinda feel like it was simply written in the star.

Oh please no, not penalties for the third time  :sofa:

Think we would all prefer a nice clean win for us in 90 minutes, though that seems the most unlikely of the outcomes.

I bet if we are 5-0 up by half time you'd still be forecasting black clouds for the second half and a total thrashing by City :laugh2:

Is it true that city and Chelsea fans were fighting last night in Porto? Hope not. I fcuking hate hooliganism and it's a blight on the country and club. Saw some footage on twitter, but I don't believe footage of hooliganism I see on social media unless it's verified. Could be old footage.

I really hope we can beat City with their supposed full strength team. All I keep seeing and reading is that we only beat them twice recently because they didn't have their main team out.

They've even rolled out Mark Hughes on Sky Sports to say exactly the same thing. Honestly, when they are winning with different squads people cream over their strength in depth, yet when we beat them suddenly they trot out "it wasn't our best team".

Let's do this!!

If we win then that goes away, if we lose however it will get pointed out again and again and again....

More likely if we are up by 5 at half time then I wake up and realize the game has not started yet lol 🤪

Can we please refrain from calling our lads & team "bottlers" no matter the result tomorrow?

Reminder that Guardiola have been at City for five years now and this is the only time he's reached the final. At this stage of the competition it's usually decided by small margins and luck.

By your definition if City don't win they are bottle jobs?

In truth, its wether when we walk off the pitch at the end  and don't have regrets. Little to do with how long a 'project' is( I really hate that term in football). Many fine teams throughout the years have froze on the big day, I just hope we approach the occasion fearlessly and see what comes.

Ah for all those whos nerves are already jingling remember what we keep hearing.

We have not and cannot beat Cities best side, it is their time and they deserve it. It is their destiny to win it, they are going to do it for Aguero, and to validate Pep and to reward their owners investment and we are just there to make up the numbers. Even their own players, like Sterling, have said we are not good enough to beat them.

So basically is a foregone conclusion already so nothing to be nervous about at all right?

Hope that helps 😉

Pulisic isn’t sure to start on Saturday, but his record in the senior finals he has played suggests he generally impacts the biggest games.

Im interested who will start upfront. The rest of the team picks itself

If, big if, Pulisic starts; I sure hope TT find a way to put him on the left and let him run at the defense.

I think we should bring him on as a sub, let him run at tired defences. Plus he takes penalties

The BBC are running bloody articles romanticising City’s rise from third tier to possible Kings of Europe. Other than a recent slump, they are no different to us, a persistently underachieving club of good size that suddenly had a huge amount of cash spent on trying to be very successful. It’s never damn romanticised when told as Chelsea’s story.

Considering our recent record as spoilers that doesn't necessarily seem like a bad thing.

There have been a few [admittedly quite enjoyable] articles fawning over the tactical and intellectual class of Guardiola (and to a much lesser extent Tuchel) over the past few days - has anyone added that to the fate tabulator?

Speaking of fate I'm in a bit of a bind. I watched the 2012 final (and as a direct result, the 2013 final, then the 2015 game against Palace) at Walkabout on Granby Street in Leicester.

Walkabout has since closed and moved to Belvoir (pronounced 'Beaver') Street, but there's another venue in the old Walkabout's place. I'm wondering, from a superstition perspective, which one do I go to? Or do I go to a different bar where I watched the 2019 final?

These things matter!

Two of my best friends are City fans (Dads born in Manchester), so we're gonna watch it together. They don't have any sense of entitlement, but the City fans I see on the web are definitely the worst of the lot. They have no/a terrible sense of humour, and a weird inferiority complex.

Its like most a lot of to be fair. The fans that supported the teams before they came upon huge success are generally going to remember the old days and act less entitled. I know quite a lot of older United fans who are very fair and decent too. I haven't come across too many obnoxious City fans although I am sure there are plenty that have jumped on the bandwagon in recent years. No doubt we have our fair sure too 😉

I reckon there is a really good chance he starts Ziyech along with the usual two.
